I got this in an e-mail from disney, i hadn't heard about it, maybe you guys have but i thought it sounded great.... Let's get one thing straight: Expedition Everest, Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, opening in 2006 in the Asia section of Disney's Animal Kingdom, is not, strictly speaking, a roller coaster.
Sure, the three-minute experience features a 112-foot lift and an 80-foot drop (the highest and longest at Walt Disney World) and reaches speeds of up to 50 miles per hour, but don't call it a roller coaster.
"It's an adventure," says Walt Disney Imagineering senior show producer Kathy Rogers. "Yes, it's a coaster-like thrill ride, but everything that happens ..."
