::MickeyMo "Well hi there everybody!"

Anyone have a ride they would want to see built in WDW? Like: a Lion King 'ride' in AK or MG with something in common with Body Wars? Am I the only one sad enough to actually think of things like this?!

i thought a Roller Coaster Type ride from Monsters Inc. would be cool... you know the door room they have when they are chasing Randal...

I've heard that the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular will be replaced with an Indy ride, similar to that in DL. I've also heard that the DL ride is AWESOME.

The Indiana Jones Adventure ride at DL is awesome. It is the same kind of ride as "Dinosaur"(Countdown to Extinction) at Animal Kingdom.

We were out a few times and the DL Indy ride is "to die for!" I'm thrilled to hear it's coming east!!

Is the Stitch ride really happening?

It is similar but Indy is alot better IMHO. The way the trucks stop and change directions are the same but the set of the indy ride is alot better that CTE. I would like to see them build the ride at WDW but I wouldn't like to see the show replaced. That is like taking Spaceship Earth and putting a Rollar Coaster in it.

The whole Indiana Jones thing is entirely a rumor at this point. The origin seems to lie in the fact that the forthcoming auto stunt show at MGM would be yet another live production, and speculation is that one of the current shows would be shut-down. Apparently Disney pays a relatively small amount of money to license the Indiana Jones characters--I believe it's only $1 million annually. So, the next leap in logic is that it would be sensible (economical) to replicate the existing IJ ride at MGM.

Again, purely a rumor, and we probably won't hear more until the stunt show opens about 2 years from now.

Incidentally, I've never been to Disneyland, but my understanding is that Dinosaur (at AK) is an EXACT replica of the Indiana Jones ride from DL. Aside from the obvious changes in theming, I believe the mechanics of the attraction (track layout, etc.) is a carbon copy of the DL attraction. If so, it's hard telling how this might factor into the decision making process. Would they put two differently-themed versions of the same attraction at WDW?

I can tell you first hand, the ride track in DL in not an exact replica of Dinosaur. IMHO its worth a trip to southern calf. just for this magnificent ride along with Soarin Over California. :D

I'm going out on a limb and saying yes...don't Dumbo and Triceratops Spin seem awfully similar? ;)

speaking of soarin over california, that is going in at epcot in the land pavillion somewhere behind food rocks...anyone know an estimated opening date on this one???

I'm pretty sure I saw a date in either the Mickey Monitor or Disney Magazine. I want to say 2006?

Just to add to the point -- of dumbo and the triceritops ride -- Aladdins magic Carpet is the same as well...

I must say I dont really like this -- it takes the magic and nostalgia of Dumbo away to have a ride just like it by Pirates!

On the Indy ride -- they could make it like the one I have heard about in Paris -- It has a loop -- I will be there this summer and will give a full report then! :earsgirl:

According to the press releases, here are the dates they are shooting for:

Stitch's Great Escape (MK) - Fall 2004

Soarin' Over California (EP) - 2005

Stunt Show Spectactular (DS) - 2005

Expedition Everest (AK) - 2006

Of these, I'd say "Soarin" is the most likely to open on schedule. It will be an exact replica of the attraction at Disneyland, so the technology is already tried and true. "Stitch" is mostly a refurb of Alien Encounter, but glitches in the new technology could conceivably push things back. "Everest" will consist of a 200' mountain constructed at AK, with all new ride technology. Hard telling when that one might open, although a 2006 projection does give them over 3 full years.

I would have to say that Body Wars and Star Tours are pretty similar as well. So I'd have to vote "yes" they would place two similar type rides with different themes in their parks.

Does anyone know what the "Stich Encounter" as my family has been calling it will be like?

I adored Lilo and Stich -- Elvis and Disney - you cant get much better!

Hey Beth - from what I have read, Stitch is going to be an overlay over Alien Encounter. The intensity will be toned down, but the overall experience will be similar. Again, that is only what I have read, and nothing formal has been released yet.

Why thank you Adam --
I want some kind of Pocahontas ride...

I know --- you dont like Pocahontas

but it is one of my favorites

Perhaps a canoe ride on a track through the lagoon...?

Nevermind - my idea sucks and it would be only interesting to me ;) I am done now!

When the movie first came out and I loved it you picked on me about it and said that it was rushed by Disney and they released without certain scenes and songs to get it out before some other big movie and how it was not a great animated film...

Your sister has a good memory;)

How was Amanda's Birthday?
