I had mentioned this once before when there was a thread asking for ideas for new resorts.........I don't think anyone should take offense in suggesting it. Many adults of many ages, honeymooners, solos etc would love a more laid back resort. We are all children at heart and all of us love Disney it's just that it would be nice to have a resort where you don't have to deal with alot of noise and kids all over the place.........don't get me wrong I like kids but I also like some peace and quiet at the end of a long day at the parks, and would love to enjoy a place by the pool and in the pool free of the screaming and the water splashing so if you want to flame me go ahead! Not all kids are like that but there are many that are! It's just a suggestion of perhaps a smaller scaled resort for people who do not have kids or perfer not to be around them all the time.
I completely agree with the poster below.........
Get ready for some flaming from some people as this idea has been mentioned before and people were VERY vocal in the opinion that WDW is only for families and the very idea of adults only resort might as well be spitting in the face of Walt and his vision of WDW
I personally see no problem with an adults only resort. It doesnt have to be on a huge scale like Grand Floridian or Boardwalk. It could be on a smaller scale around the size of VWL or BCV with a spa, nice restaurant, and some other things that appeal to adults.
I understand WDW is a family destination. But it is also the #1 honeymoon destination. Wouldnt you think maybe some of these people would like the option of staying in a romantic adults only resort? I think they would. Also you have alot of retirees going on trips without kids. Dont you think they might like the option of going to an adults only resort. I do.
I am a family man and I cant wait for my daughter to get older and spend our vacations at Disney,we even bought into DVC for that reason. But on my many trips before her I have noticed alot of parents are anything but parents. They let their kids run around screaming and dont seem to care how it affects others and that is very inconsiderate to other people on vacation. Its as they have the mindset that if they have to suffer so do you,and that really annoys me as im sure it does alot of people.
So I personally dont see a big deal of an adults only resort. People will argue that there are adults only options at WDW,well then why cant an adults only resort be one of them. People understand that going to WDW means there are going to be alot kids and families as WDW bring out the kid in all of us. But at the end of the day some people(honeymooners, retirees) might like the option of going to a resort pool, hottub, or restaurant to relax and not want to hear bunch of kids screaming.
