NEW Rejected Offers Thread

I've since decided to take a step back and let this next year of Disney trips play out (5 planned!) before we re-assess our points.
It may not be consensus here with our merry band of enablers, but I think this is a great idea.

Addonitis tends to strike fast and hard (I went from 0-500 inside a year), and early on I made choices that, while not catastrophic, have created headaches through the years (like buying VGF in 2 different use years, and having 4 total UYs!) that I think I would have avoided once I became more familiar with the mechanics of the booking patterns and also how I actually use the points. I waited a year between contract 4 and 5 (which was only 18mo from initial DVC purchase!) and by that point I had a much better sense of what would make sense for my family and held out to get a VGC contract in one of my existing UY!

I couldn’t agree more. I jumped in head first and even though all is very usable, doing things different would have saved me some money and some headaches.
Getting it all worked out just takes more time and understanding how you will be using the points.
I still have VGC in a different UY, but I don’t see that ever really becoming an issue. lol

I think all of them were between 125 and 225. I really almost bought the one at $103. If they had offered to pay closing costs, I probably would have.

Getting $103 for Boardwalk is hard to do and a great deal. It's always nice when you buy something at such a great deal you have a bit of "equity" going in. I dont need more points but I would've bought for $103

My issue is that both the total cost per point and the cost per nightly stay were so much higher than other home resorts, even at that low buy-in (and it was stripped). CCV and BLT were both quite a bit cheaper because of their longer expiration. I know the 11 month window is valuable, but seeing a decent amount of BWV availability at 7 months also gave me pause. Finally, there's like four retail/dining/entertainment venues at BWV that are vacant right now, and if those remain dead or there are more closures, it would feel like it starts killing the vibe. So holding off feels like the right choice for the present.

Definitely, if you're comparing to all resorts, but if you're wanting/needing BWV points $103 is a steal!

Now that the dues are out it may start to change the value of a sub contract. It is still a steal if you want Aulani points, but not so much if you want SAP(+).

Yes, I've had the same experience. Not all resale companies are created equal unfortunately :rolleyes1

For me, it was for AUL specifically. A heafy number of points to go towards a GV OV in Oct (8 nights) as well as a good chunk for future trips in the hopes we really enjoy it.

Love it!!

I’d love to own Aulani, just not sure I can afford it. lol

If you look at the average increase over the life Aulani has not increased more than other resorts. So we don’t know for sure that SUB will end up being more than all others. This was an outlier year for dues to date. BLT has increased % much more than Aulani has.

Every time I do the math, we end up at the Marriott next door (better view and more days for the money), then I grab a day at Aulani if the kids want to use the pool lol. Aulani is nice, but a bit busy for my tastes too.
