New Refillable mug designs at POP and AS

Can you still use the old ones at Pop cause I am going in May and bought the mugs last year when I was there.

popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

You're still new to the boards, so hopefully you won't get pounced on for this question! :rotfl2: To answer your question though.... NO, you can't use your mugs from last year! They are only good for the length of your stay.

Sorry, mugs are only good for the trip you bought them for.

You will need to buy a new mugs.

Here is a photo of a sign at Pop which spells out the rules of the refill mug:

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

That's exactly what I thought too when I saw the pictures! I was actually looking closely to see if the characters had hat's and scarfs on!

Being from MA, I've had enough of winter too this year! I'm going to Disney in September, I don't want to buy a mug that's going to remind me of what's to come in the following months!!! :rotfl2:

Isn't it funny how we associate the color blue with winter snow.

Why is that?

I live in Michigan and the sky has always been grey and gloomy when it snows here.

Is the price still the same as listed on another website? I'm trying to budget to buy mugs for my family, plus my parents and DSis. I know they don't cost the earth and are worth it, but getting 7 all at once, I want to be prepared for sticker shock!

According to the picture above, the mugs are $11.99. With food court beverages running about $1.99, pretax, you'd have to use the mug 5 times to have it pay for itself, and frankly, I can do that in 2 trips - I'm a big tea drinker. One thing I'm going to do this time is bring my own 'to go' cups, to pour that last cup of tea into before heading out into the parks. I know they have them there for the asking, but I got the big ole fish eye from more than one CM on the last trip when asking for one, and a lecture from one of them regarding the 'not sharing' policy. I'm aware of the rules, and in an effort to avoid ANY possibility of getting lectured to again, I'm just bringing my own disposables - they're pretty cheap.

Oh, and another tip - if you, like me, think creamer is nasty, you can ask the CM who is manning the beverage station, and they'll give you real milk for your tea or coffee - you just have to ask.

KC:)

Thanks!

We've used our other mugs on all 3 trips (shhh, don't tell the mug police!) because we were told to begin with they were good "forever", but now we're going to go with the "new" policy and get new mugs.

Still think they look like crappy winter, and am disappointed that they don't have the resort or anything on them, but at least I won't have to worry about being tackled by the mug police:scared:

When we went to POP in March I saw a picture of them on the resort info they give you when you check in, so I was excited to buy one. Well went to the food court and they had the regular ones (still bought one anyway). I asked a CM at the store and they said that right now they were on back order (something about a last minute decision issues). I'm not exactly sure what that meant, but it would have made more sense to have them out earlier. I know they are wintery looking, but I made sure to have a few year of a million dreams items before I left and would of liked to have had this one! Hope they are still there in October!

If they were on back order and now they are in then that is probably why they have put them out in full force. They need to get rid of them all by the end of the YOAMD. I am thinking after the mugs sell down the regular mugs will come back out.

If all the resorts get the same mug, then you can refill anywhere.... which can be handy when you pool-hop :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: you made me laugh outloud! I have another question for you.
1. Are you going to bring these mugs to your multiple adr's?
2. Should I take my kids out of school?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'd rather have the old style, with the year stamped on that... And I prefer that fat ones you can't knock over.

I just got the new mug from Pop. The handle and the lid are both blue. They also sold black handled ones.

They only had the small base style, but I prefer that style for car travel anyway. I have also been told that the small base style holds just a wee bit more than the all wide style....:confused3 .... very possible I guess.

I rather missed the bright tie dyed style at the Pop. I sure hope they bring it back. When does the YOMD end?

My guess is that when YOAMD is over that the next cups will have the next theme on it or just a generic 2008 WDW-related picture on it. I think that the idea of having a universal, annual mug at all resorts might stay rather than having the resorts go back to resort-specific mugs.

Time will tell, but it costs WDW less $$$ to make all of the mugs with the same design in 2-3 colors plus it discourages people from bringing back the same mugs year after year when there is a new mug to buy every year. (Yes, I know some people will bring back old mugs, anyway--I'm just saying that it might discourage the habit in some if they know that their old mug won't match the newer, annual mug).

I agree.

I also think you might be right on this one too!

We'll all just have to wait and see what happens when this promo is over!

I think that more people would like the mugs that fit into the car cup holders. Although, I find that the shorter ones last longer. I've had lids on the tall ones bust.

Only Only 94d:2h:15m:53s until our 08:30PM arrival at Disneyworld on 08/16/2007 for me! First time: preferred room and a fridge. :jumping1:

I totally see what your saying, however what does not stop guests from brining back the generic mugs before the year is over, assuming they go on more then 1 trip a year to WDW. I know you can all say the answer is honesty however since the Resorts never changed their own mug designs over the last few years, guests still brought old mugs back since no one could tell when they were purchased. So couldn't you have the same situation with the generic mugs?

I'm sure you are right. But the others make the best bedside water glasses in the world. Water stays cold, and I won't knock it over reaching for it half awake.

We did get one of the others as well, so DH could have coffee in the AM. Can't mix coffee and soda in the same mug. :sad2: And over 16 days you can easily justify buying one just for coffee.
