New Refillable mug designs at POP and AS

Sorry if you do not like the mugs, but I do!!! We will be at POR again this summer,and I dreaded buying the same mugs as last time. I was not crazy about them. But these I like. I can understand them looking sort of wintery, but I am looking at them like it is "dreamy", like in a cloud. I love the color blue anyway, so it works for me. Plus, there are different handle colors which helps us not get confused who's mug is who's (even though we write our names on them with a Sharpie.) Please be at POR. Please be at POR. I like the new refill mugs. I like the color pallatte and the characters. I really prefer the tall ones, too, because they fit in my car cupholders!

I also like the idea that the design might change every year. Many of us return yearly and stay at the same resorts multiple times, so now we'll have a collection that relflects the year rather than the same accomodations over and over.

I like the tall style also, because I can put it in the car cupholder. I don't mind the style of the new ones, although it seems a little odd that the handle and lid wouldn't necessarily be the same color, but I really liked having different mugs for different resorts, rather then for the years; I have other things I save to commemorate the time of my visits. Oh, well, it's not like I'm going to stop going because they change the cups!

Well they're cute, but I like the fat style better. Does anyone else think they look Christmasie? okay did I make that up? I hope the CR get new ones, they're pretty tired looking. We'll be there in September and hoping for "cute" mugs, just love collecting them!

YES...I agree......the characters look like they are standing in the snow.

They do look "wintery"!

I prefer having one unique to our resort. The resort theming and name is why I buy them! I was hoping to get a Polynesian one soon. I don't know if I like having a "generic" one.

I do try to buy the tall ones as they do fit in our car cup holders.

I like the Beach Club Mugs better - and I want them to say the resort name!!! I guess this way you would be more likely to be able to go from resort to resort refilling mugs - I guess people do that already - I am too afraid, I would get caught and they would throw me out!

I mean I am tired of buying the same BC mug each year BUT I still want a Beach Club mug not a generic mug!

You won't be thrown out for using your mug at another Resort. For the record I am not saying it is ok to do this, I am just saying I have seen guests fill their mugs from other Resorts at the Food & Fun Center and no Cast Member has told them to stop and made them leave.

i have noticed that guests are encourgaed to use other resort pools, food courts shops, etc, especially if theirs is being rehab'd it would only seem fair to let them use thier mug...
and gosh I go to fla to get away from winter... I do wish the new mug was a little more tropical

Sorry, you have been misinformed, Guests are not encouraged to use the pools at other resorts.

these are the exceptions :
1)sometimes DVC members at certain pools during certain times of the year may pool hop.
2). If a resort's is being refurbished the front desk may send the guests to another pool.
(The front desk will tell the guest which pool they are allowed to go to. It is not up to the guest to choose the pool they want to go too.)


Any of Disney's resort guests (even those staying at a value or mod) are allowed to shop, dine, use the transportation or spa facilities at any of the Disney Resorts. (Of course pool hopping is not allowed.)

I have to say, the people at WDW Marketing aren't stupid. If they're making all the refillable mugs identical, they must realize that people will use them all over. If I was in WDW Marketing, here's what would be my thought process:

Most people, even those who are 'regulars' come once, maybe twice a year. And if we have annual mugs, instead of mugs specific to a resort, yeah, maybe people will use the mug during their visit at several resorts (but at least they'll be visiting other resorts), but it'll be really obvious who is using their mug year after year, and maybe we can enforce the rules a little bit better.

Just my two cents - I'm not crazy about the new mugs, either, but I bet this was a very well thought out change.

But if YOAMD ends in DEC (like Dec when? I don't know) why didn't they come out with these sooner? For the whole YOAMD? or at least in Jan thru all of 2007 - just wondering

When we went to POP in March I saw a picture of them on the resort info they give you when you check in, so I was excited to buy one. Well went to the food court and they had the regular ones (still bought one anyway). I asked a CM at the store and they said that right now they were on back order (something about a last minute decision issues). I'm not exactly sure what that meant, but it would have made more sense to have them out earlier. I know they are wintery looking, but I made sure to have a few year of a million dreams items before I left and would of liked to have had this one! Hope they are still there in October!

Just an FYI

The blue and white on the mugs is supposed to represent the blue sky & dreamy clouds for the YOAMD celebration not snow.

Once the Year of a Million Dreams is over I imagine the new mugs will represent the new promotion.

is it just me or do they look like "winter" mugs? The cool blue etc..just reminds me of winter. I live in N.E. and this is not a plus to me . I will be very disappointed if that is the only mug available in July.

That's exactly what I thought too when I saw the pictures! I was actually looking closely to see if the characters had hat's and scarfs on!

Being from MA, I've had enough of winter too this year! I'm going to Disney in September, I don't want to buy a mug that's going to remind me of what's to come in the following months!!!
