New Real VMK Pins this Week

I really want a set of these, but lucky me, I live so far away. If you order them, you get random pins and on ebay the prices are so high :( I really wish Disney would do something for VMK in the Disney Store. A place where everyone can visit. Not just the people who happen to live right next to their park.

As the Disney Stores are NOT owned by Disney any longer (and haven't been for just about 2 years now) I would not expect to see any PARK merchandise at the stores.

What the stores DO have is very limited to clothes made/designed by the children's place (the owners) as well as toys and other such things. Snowglobes & collectible pieces are going the way of the dinosaur.

Sad really because the Stores were the one way Disney had to be a presence in people's neighborhoods.

oh wonderful. Well I guess there goes any hope of ever getting cards. I haven't been to Disney World in ten years and I can't go until my daughter is older. She's only three and I want her to remember the visit. My husband went when he was four and doesn't remember a thing. He might as well have never gone. I probably have a three year wait on my hands.

Do you care if the codes are used or not?

Someone offered to send me used cards from the pin series, whatever cards they happen to get. Since the pins are random, there may be duplicates. If you'd like, I could send you the duplicates (or I could ask them to send you the duplicates), if you want these purely for a collection, and not for the item codes.

I really need to read this board more regularly. I was at MK on Saturday and Epcot on Sunday. I didn't even bother to look because it said release day of nov 14.

Me, too, Tink! I spent the whole day Friday in the parks...even told my sister how cool it would be if they released those VMK tins early, while we were still there. But I didn't even go into that pin shop in Frontierland once on Friday, even though I usually walk through it every time I pass by. I traveled home all day Saturday, and saw this thread yesterday. Like the first day home from Disney is not depressing enough as it is! :rotfl: :sad2:

Deba!! Hi, old friend! :) And I don't mean "old" in that way!! LOL!

Is this *really* you? :rotfl: And are you telling me that you just took another trip to WDW?? Sorry about not getting the pins. I am trying to talk my mom or sister into going to Downtown Disney for me tomorrow.

Sorry to be off-topic! I was just so surprised to see your name here! :Pinkbounc

Aeryn covered the part about The Disney Store not being affliated with
Disney directly anymore, so I don't need to cover that.

But...even the people who are buying the pins in person are buying random
pins. It's called a "Mystery Box" set, and like Forrest Gump's box o'
chocolates, "you never know what you're gonna get". You can still order
the pin through Walt Disney World mail order, but the shipping charge is
a bit.....costly.

From www.dizpins.com:

Please note - Each box with two cards is sealed. If the box is opened upon purchase, Guests will be unable to return or exchange this item. Boxes can not be opened prior to purchase.

SKU: 10905152 ~ Retail Price: $14.00

If you want to order these pins, either email or call WDW Mail Order
with the SKU number I listed above.

wdw.mail.order@disneyworld.com

or call (407) 363-6200

Hi Pink! :wave2: Yeah, it's that time of year again. Fall allergies have me staying indoors (with the ac still on!), praying for a couple of good frosts. Gives me more time for DIS and VMK...I've even made a few trades!

Dark didn't tell you that I was in WDW last week? Those boys, lol! It was a counselor's conference at a DTD hotel, but I managed to get to the parks every day. One month from yesterday we'll be joining you at OKW...looking forward to seeing you again!

Back on topic...can you believe I was there and missed the vmk cards? :faint:

Well, someone on this board completely rocks :)

You know, $14 per box is really a great price for what you get: 2 VMK cards and a pin? WOW - I look at the pin as a bonus! lol I am paying $7 each for the VMK cards!

It rocks even more when you realize you get two pins and two cards for $14. (Or at least that's what I understand, correct me if I'm wrong...) :teeth:

The only real drawback is the randomness and the possibility of getting stuck with multiple copies of the same pins/cards. Especially a bummer if you get the lesser value items...

Hi,
It is even better then that you get 2 pins and 2 VMK cards. Can't wait 6 days and we are there ad buying pins!

Bug

THAT does ROCK even more!
I will be putting my order in shortly. Got an email back from them stating they would be contacting me "as soon as possible" - which, in any type of sales environment, should be tomorrow at the latest

I finally managed to order mine today. The CM called me back and said I could have as many boxes as I wanted.

Perhaps we could trade off the doubles here on VMK?

u have to buy thme ill never get any thing there in wdw and thing quest there u can count on me to not get it

I just ordered the pins - (hey I am always a bit late.... ) and I asked for two sets and the lady on the phone said "Are you sure you don't want more? They are going really quickly." So I don't know if that means that even their "unlimited" release is really limited. I don't know what it means at all, just a word to the wise.

What that usually means is the first order has been sold out - these are considered "open stock" pins, so when this batch sells out - they will order more. They may be gone from shops for a few weeks, but they will most likely be back rather quickly. Seeing as how quickly they sold...

I'm thinking of ordering some by phone, but first, can somebody tell me what these cost to ship? Is there a link to a shipping cost chart?

$14 was the shipping on my 5 boxes - ground, not airmail - Disney typically uses a dollar ammount to determine shipping

It's based on dollar amount of purchase. Here's part of the email they sent me.

MERCHANDISE TOTAL:
Up to $50.00 Ground $8.95 Express Air $33.95 Economy Air $23.95
Alaska & Hawaii Express $58.95 Economy $33.95
$50.01-$75.00 Ground $14.95 Express Air $39.00 Economy Air $29.00
Alaska & Hawaii Express $64.00 Economy $39.00
$75.01-$100.00 Ground $21.00 Express Air $51.00 Economy Air $36.00
Alaska & Hawaii Express $81.00 Economy $51.00
$100.01-$150.00 Ground $26.00 Express Air $56.00 Economy Air $41.00
Alaska & Hawaii Express $86.00 Economy $56.00
$150.01-$250.00 Ground $36.00 Express Air $66.00 Economy Air $51.00
Alaska & Hawaii Express $91.00 Economy $66.00
$250.01-$500.00 Ground $76.00 Express Air $116.00 Economy Air $91.00
Alaska & Hawaii Express $156.00 Economy $116.00
$500.01-$1000 Ground $112.00 Exp. Air $152.00 Econ. Air $127.00
Alaska & Hawaii Express $192.00 Economy $152.00

To take advantage of what you're going to pay for shipping you should only buy these amounts of set. 3,5,7,10,17,35, or 71.

Thanks mtlhddoc2 and Coasterguy for the info! Exactly what I was looking for.

If I understand correctly, are the only two ways to order these pins/cards: 1) calling the WDW Merchandise Guest Services phone number or 2) sending them an e-mail? Is sales tax charged in both ordering methods?

no tax :)
you would only have to pay tax if you live in Florida I think...
