A lady did win a case against mcdonalds for serving hot coffee. the coffee was over 300 degrees (water boils at 212) and the cup broke, and she suffered third degree burns. the lawsuit resulted in the cups having a warning, and being more sturdy than other cups, and a hefty financial reward for the lady who suffered the burns.

(i'm writing a paper about mcdonalds haha)
That I can understand. People suing because they gained weight from eating the food is what I will never understand.

People confuse me so, so much.

xD
I realized I was at 10K posts.. 1 post after... ah well- I still made my celebratory thread :p

Is it wrong that while watching the "Oh Boyz" episode of Kim Possible I thought "I'd buy those songs"? xD

The rash of "fatsuits" resulted in many restaurants across the board providing nutritional information without being required to, by law. I've read though, that the nutritional info at many sit down restaurants isn't entirely accurate, due to differences in cooking methods verses mcdonald's streamlined "same-way-every-time" cooking methods. However, I think its a good thing that any nutritional info is provided. I mean, we get it when we cook our own food at home, with the packaging, so why shouldn't restaurants give us the same white label?

Many felt that it would result in lower sales of unhealthy items, but I haven't found anything to back that up, and since the lawsuit, mcdonalds has opened up in several new countries (china mainly), so they can't be hurting for sales.

The chinese didn't understand the drivethroughs at first, since Mcdonalds was hte first to come to the country with that method of food delivery. Many customers would go through the drive through, park and come into the store to eat. The counter girls had to be trained to instruct the customers with the proper drive through mentality. It didn't take long to catch on, though. It really does say a lot about our fast food nation when something so ingrained in our mind and actions as a drive through is a completely foreign and unnecessary concept to people in other countries like china. (thats a main point in my paper)

I never thought about mcdonalds so much until i went to college, but seriously, half my classes talk about it. its crazy.

Wow. I never thought of any of that this way.

I'm not very articulate tonight. To be fair I spent 3 hours swimming and then about 45 minutes working out and it's rather late so I am quite tired. xD

Oh I see! How happy! What does Adam Lambert eat?
