New Purchase Use Year

My girlfriend and I are planning on buying some points at SSR this month before the price goes up in April (we are just waiting for our guide to call us back when he gest back to the office tomorrow). My question is will he just asign us a use year or do we get to pick one? Will we get March because we are purchasing in March? I'm a little confused on how this works and would like to be prepared before I speak with our guide tomorrow.

I just purchased and my UY is Sept. They sell certain months at a time.

I think if you ask for another month and tell them the sale is contigent on that month, they can and will bend on this. Just my opinion though.

Last week my guide offered Oct 05, Dec 05, Feb 06, and Mar 06. Ony catch with 06 UYs is since those months are very current UY, you don't get the advantage of getting current UY points that are almost 6 months old without the MF. Current year (06) MF are still prorated to joining date regardless of UY. I was particularly looking for Mar UY for the banking windows, since we primarily take Spring/Summer vacations.

I spoke with a DVC rep today, and he told me that if I bought by March 31, my UY would be Oct. He also said that I'd get all of my 2005 points, and could use them *immediately*. I'd then get my 2006 points in Oct.

I've already decided how to spend my points, and I haven't even signed on yet!
