Are those supposedly big enough for an adult to sleep on? If so, I wonder, have adults here have actually slept on one? DVC talks about how the addition of the pull-down makes it possible to sleep 5 in a studio, but when we were in a studio last month, the pull-down sleeper looked kind of small and not terribly sturdy to me. Is there a weight limit? Or is it supposedly as "reliable" as any other sleeping arrangement in the studio? Maybe it just looked untrustworthy to me because I'd never seen one before.

Go here for a picture of an adult in the pull-down bed http://www.disboards.com/threads/vgf-pull-down-bed-below-tv.3214791/#post-50367549 This one is at VGF but the model is the same elsewhere. As has been reported, it can hold an adult, but better would be someone smaller than the 5"11" adult pictured. I have seen the one in BWV which is just the same as the model in the picture and it is sturdy and can hold quite of a bit of weight.

They are small bed, intended for children/teens. 5 in a studio IMHO is not a good arrangement, 5 with 1 bathroom, no thanks.

My 50+ friend slept on one at VGF and Poly, no complaints. I'd guess she's 5'4", average weight. There was 3 of us so each got their own sleep space.

I concur with Debbie above, we had four adults in a POLY studio for Marathon weekend last year (Wenesday-Monday), it was a little cramped since three of us were running the Dopey challenge but it wasn't too bad. My husband and I had the bed, friend (guy) had the pull out sofa, and SIL had the pull down bed. She is about 5'4" -5'5" average weight, and she liked it. I think the four adults was pushing it for that long of a period of time, but the beds were not the issue.

The murphy bed is also narrower than the standard twin sized bed.

Can I ask which studios have this? I was only aware of these being in the living room area in the larger units. Shows how much I have kept up with stuff! This might be a good alternative when we are running low on points with kids that don't want to sleep together.

BRV (old VWL), BCV, BWV, VGF, PVB. Not AKV, OKW, BLT, SSR.

I have slept on the one in VGF and in the Polynesian by choice. It was not an occupancy issue. I am around 5'10".

Found both of them very comfortable. However for some reason I did hit my head when turning twice in the Polynesian but not the VGF. I was told they are identical in measurements. But.......

There was another thread recently where a poster said that they are built to sustain adult weight.

Just saw a picture of one. I guess once again, my aging memory caught me. It does look sturdier and larger than I thought I remembered.

My DD is 5'7" and slept on the pull down at the Poly. We had 5 adults in there - a bit too cramped imo. The two showers helped and we had the balcony so it worked out.

was fine for me, im 5'8 and pretty muscular and had plenty of room. tho i did hit my head a few times when picking it up too fast, but thats me not remembering there is shelf above me sometimes.

I'm 5'8" and sleep on them. My issue is that I can't see the tv!! But I tend to curl up so I'm very comfy on them.

How far off the ground are they? My DD is 8 (she'll be 9 next year when we stay at BWV for the first time). She still sleeps with a rail on her bed at home because, I swear, it's like she's in there practicing gymnastics in the middle of the night. Just wondering if she rolls out of bed, how far she'll fall...

Maybe a foot. See this article on the DVC News. It even has a video showing how the ones at BWV open. The murphy beds at VGF and PVB open manually.
