Your choice is buy SSR with the deal (free park passes) or the better option, buy resale. If you can't find a resort out of SSR, VWL, BCV, BWV or OKW than you won't be happy with the next resort either.


I am pushing for OKW or VWL, but DH wants at a "new" resort because the ownership time is longer. His argument is that SSR will give us more years of membership, which is true. However, I do not like the "large" feeling it has, and I am especially not intereseted now that I have heard that they have added more units into the blueprints!

I really don't think so because Disney's last three DVC resorts used existing infastructure which had to save them a ton of money. Which obviously leads me to the Contemporary DVC. It makes sense. Think of all of the money Disney could save by having a DVC resort there.

I have the opposite view. DVC would love to build at the CR, but there will be a lot of competition for that space - its prime real estate and Disney may want to do something else with it. Think of all the money Disney could make if they weren't locked into the short term profit model of DVC and had something they could continue to rent out on a nightly basis 30 years from now! Perhaps a cash based home away from home resort - like the Ft Wilderness cabins - to address the needs of larger families? They can't build enough DVC units on that space - huge SSR is selling too fast, the CR would sell before it was built - leaving DVC nothing to sell. Too much demand for a product is better than too little, but it has its problems.
