After Seaworld started the trend, Universal follows suit. I didn't catch when the new price takes effect but Universal is raising their price to $51.95 before tax. If I did my math correct the total cost is $55.32. It should be the same price as Seaworld, now the question is when is Disney going to raise their price. They were the last one to do it also last year, almost 6 months after Universal and 9 months after Seaworld. I saw this on channel 9 news at 6 tonight.

I know that they will raise them, but just wondering if they will do it sooner or later like last year.

Even with the Universal prices rising, they seem to toss out a lot of discounts and coupons unlike "Team Rodent." :) It's like shopping for clothes -- if you pay full price for tickets at Universal, you've paid too much! :)

My understanding is that Disney raises their prices about the same time every year, October-November.

I found a $3 off coupon at a tourist information center once. Also try the brouchure stand at most Orlando hotels and restaurants.

You can also order discounted tickets from AAA or places like www.ticketmania.com.

Am I right that the $55 ticket is only good for one park (either Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios)????

Does anyone have a cost effective recommendation to get a one day pass to both parks? Kinda like a hopper but only for one day?

Yes that is for only one park. I don't know the exact price but I know that it use to cost 72.00.

Make friends with the employees. ;) :p :jester:

Depending on when you are going they are offering some good discounts, like five day hopers for the price of 2, check out their home web site. I just booked the Royal Pacific for 7 days on Easter week and got two Adult tickets (hoppers) for the length of stay. 178/n. That is front of the line access also, All taxes included:), just call reservations and ask for promotional packages.

We bought the Preferred AP's on the "Buy One, Get One at Half Price" deal. Seemed like too good a deal to pass up. With taxes and e-ticket charge, it was $512.99 for four passes. With the free parking, all the discounts at restaurants, etc., they will be well worth the $$. Plus, now I have a way to convince the wife to go again before the end of the year:
"But honey, the tickets are already paid for!!" ;)
