We stayed at AKL Kidani from May 18-24, and there was zero security at the pool our entire stay, except our checkout day. The pool was super busy on our check in day on the 18th, it was a little surprising that there was no secure entrances.
But on our checkout day (Saturday the 24th), we spent the morning at the pool and I was stopped from entering by a woman who didn't explain, just asked for my room number. I had no idea what my room # was even though I stayed in it for 6 nights (haha embarassing), I gave her the wrong number because I was guessing. Then she looked at me funny, and I told her I had my magicband on me and whether she could just scan me? She didn't reply to that. And then I started looking it up on my app when my mom gave her the correct number. We got wristbands and another person escorted me in a different way (I had a stroller). I asked this person why the wristbands were necessary since we hadn't had to use them all week, and she said it was just for Memorial day weekend because they were expecting more crowds at the pool.
I personally thought it was stressful. I've stayed at Poly and Riviera and can recall using my magicband to enter, which I liked because it was more secure than nothing, while also not feeling intrusive. I overheard another man getting heated when they asked for his room # and he yelled at them that this was his third time being asked and he didn't appreciate it (mhmm). Anyway, I get why it was necessary, but it felt clunky at the time for paying a lot of money to stay on property. So that was my experience.
