Just checking (again!) to see if anyone has a description of the post rennovation room decor at the Polynesian. Has anyone stayed in Aotearoa or Fiji yet?

I'd love to see the newly renovated rooms! :)

How about Tuvalu? That longhouse is done by now too.

Princess Angel, we want to do the 7 day Western itinerary in 2004. Please checkout differences between category 4, 5, and 6. Oh, and have a great time!

Housekeepers in grass skirts and coconut tops? C'mon somebody, my imagination is starting to get the best of me!

Poly Pal...part of my family will be there two weeks from today so I'll ask my DH to do research if you haven't heard by then...hopefully someone will post before that! 17 days for me!

Hi, we stayed in Tuvalu this past Saturday night. I have no idea if it has just been refurbished or not, since this was our first stay! It didn't look brand new to me, but again, I have never stayed at the Poly before. The TV armoire looked really old, and the TV was very small (maybe 19 inch or so). BUT, I will say, the bedspreads looked brand new, so maybe the room has recently been refurbed?? If someone describes how it used to look, maybe I can tell! LOL!! Also, it looked to me as if they were still working on Fiji. The entrances were blocked and when I peeked inside there was equipment in the hall. HTH.

Tuvalu was done a year ago October and they may have used the same furniture but most of the room should be new materials.

We were in Hawaii in early October. I posted this somewhere but couldn't find this thread. I walked over and tried to check it out from the outside at dusk. The bedspreads LOOKED like the same pattern from a distance. The canopies were still there. Table and chairs appeared to be the same, too. The room I saw was in Aoteraroa. I looked in the hallway at Fiji. They still have the same hallway carpet design which I think is so beautiful. The walls were painted cream colored...or maybe it was wallpaper because I didn't go all the way in...looked like paint though. Paint is probably better for resisting mold and milddew. The side panels by the room doors were a coral color. Sorry I have no firmer or better detail. I felt like a schoolgirl in the hall without a pass looking in someone's hotel room:o !
