New Poly Pool pics 3-5-16

I agree the new pool is a vast improvement over this -

And the old chairs were the ones with the straps that left marks all over you and were really uncomfortable. And now there will be two hot tubs at the Poly, where originally there were none.

My guess is that DVD and DVC dues are helping to pay for the new pool.

Looks nice but I would expect it to look nicer, maybe a different shape and/or add some rocks or a small water feature.

Seems to me that at the co-branded resorts the quiet pool is dumbed down while at the DVC only resorts the newer pools are nicer.

This 'new pool' appears to be less impressive than the original pool.

Not sure why the negativity about the pool.
1- It is the second pool, the leisure pool, the quiet pool , whatever you want to call it. It appears to have nice landscaping.
2- If you walk a 100 yards you will see the main pool with the lava rock, the slide, the expanded kids area.
3- dumbed down? Again it is not the main pool. For the second pool to add a bar and a QS, plus a shaded seating area for eating, tropical surroundings, I'll take that.
4- Less impressive than the prior pool? Really? Larger deck, a BAR, a QS, I think sharp bar furniture, a drink station, where as the old pool had....?

And zero entry and bubbles and a hot tub.

Salt water, zero entry with bubblers and a rimless design seems different to me. Add in better seating, a hot tub and a bar and grill and I would say its much different.

I had missed it was salt water. I think that's a first for Disney!

I think it's looks amazing. All these negative remarks are flabbergasting to me. It's the quiet pool.. I love everything about it. Excellent job Disney!

Wow....I think the improvements look fantastic! A reason to go back to the Poly.

How deep is it?

My favorite non theme pool is Congress Park's because it is deep enough for me to enjoy. I am tall, and would like to be able to bob around a bit.

HaHa I'm not sure but reminds me of a funny story from the good ole days.

A friend had too much to drink, walked into the lake in jean shorts, stood and relieved himself, raised his beer in a toast to us. Problem was he didn't go in far enough so the water was just over his knees not covering his shorts. That dark spot has haunted my memory since. :drinking1

Still wondering about depth!

Here is a photo of the Oasis pool while it was under construction in November 2015. Judging by the height of the men in the pool and the pool's side wall, I doubt that the deepest part of the pool will be more than 3-4 feet.

Tikiman is probably the best person to ask if you want a definitive answer.

Ha!

Still wondering about depth!

4 feet at the deepest part. Back when it was the East Pool it was originally 8 feet but in 2011 it was made shallow. It is a requirement for all Disney pools and non will ever be built deeper from now on.

I think someone mentioned that the Art of Animation one was salt. Its not like ocean water. Many pools now are salt.

So is SAB the only 8 foot left then?

4' is not a good height for me. Sadly, the main pool at Poly is about like that. We did enjoy our Poly stay, but in swimming weather, I will pass on staying there again.

Lots of torches so nice atmosphere at night.
