It's been 8 days since we closed on a 25 point add-on and nothing has shown up on the DVC members site . Do you think MS would see it before it gets placed on the member services site?

Currently, we are finding that it is taking DVC 7 - 14 days to post new points to current membership. :confused3

You are close, but not quite there yet. Give them a call in a couple of days and the points should be there.

Just spoke with MS -transfered to the Re-Sale dept. Spoke to a very nice CM who said they were working on April 6th -to give her a call on Fri.

Working on the 6th? As in, 2 weeks ago? So if I closed on the 13th they won't be getting to it until next week?

What a joke this is turning out to be.

That is why we did our small add-on direct from DVC. It meant we had access to the points right away.

Clearly the volume humped pre-3/21 causing delays to each aspect of the resale process (other than ROFR somehow - one wonders if ROFR isn't just a rubber stamp exercise).

Anyway, we're seeing passing ROFR to Close take up to a month righ now, so points posting following close at 2 weeks isn't a big surprise.

My guess is things will calm down and get back to normal 60 days or less past 3/20. The Awaiting ROFR thread has certainly started to slow as those contracts pre 3/21 have cleared.

I wouldn't say that. This has got to be the busiest resale time that DVC has and may ever see. I would have had no expectations for them to beef up staff just for this one blip on the radar.

I am referring to the overall process, and the lack of any consistency. Some have passed ROFR quickly, closed and had their points in a few days. Some have passed ROFR quickly and have not gotten any closing docs for many weeks. I passed ROFR before people who closed before me. I passed ROFR at the same time as some others who are still awaiting closing docs; I received mine two weeks ago and closed a week ago. Yet they have not gotten anything. A few weeks ago I read about a resale buyer who closed on a Tuesday and made a reservation that Friday.

If they are so busy that it causes protracted delays, I am fine with that. But there is no rhyme or reason to who gets what and when. That, to me, is a joke. People are spending a lot of money--I just wired $18,000. I am not asking for special treatment, but am expecting there to be a systemic, categorical approach. Nobody should start the process 2 weeks after me and make a reservation two weeks before me; conversely, I should not be closed already when others who passed ROFR the same day as me still don't have closing docs.

It does seem like there was a stack of ROFR's that didn't move up in the pile like they should have at one title company. I sold a contract that passed ROFR on 3/14. Two others passed 2.5 weeks later and used a different title company and nothing has seemed too out of line with those. I think that all will close about the same time but I have seen people post who passed ROFR later who have already closed. I also think some "squeaky wheels" bumped some who didn't squeak further down the line.

I think the delays are somewhat (not entirely) tied to closing/title company. I don't know if large resalers (Fidelity) work with multiple closing agents that could create variance within a resaler or note. It appears some title companies are doing better than others.

You're assuming that DVC is the problem, when in fact they may not be. There are a lot of players in the mix, and not all brokers/closing agents are equal.

On the bright side, DVC is vastly better than some others in the industry.

When we bought Wyndham, I had a realtor and closing agent who were on top of everything, but it still took from July 29 to Dec 1 to get into Wyndham's system. And then they didn't tell me about it until I made several additional phone calls. And then, it took two more full MONTHS for them to establish my RCI account.

I don't know what other timeshare systems are like, but DVC is way better with the administrative stuff than Wyndham! Now that I'm in, I'm a happy camper, but it was a grueling 7 MONTHS.

I'm not assuming DVC is the problem. The reality is, DVC is the last in line and, at the end of this tiresome process, it's easy to get frustrated when you hear "5-7 days" become "7-14 days", but ultimately it's not that big a deal.
However, I was told by MS yesterday that it's taking "a good 5 days" and then today, just now, was told "it can take 2-4 weeks". I told the girl with whom I spoke that I was told 5 days yesterday, and she said "Well whoever you spoke to probably knows more than I do." So, perhaps MS could do a better job of getting their folks on the same page---but, it is what it is; the points will be there soon enough.

My biggest gripe is really with the overall process leading up to DVC receiving the contract. Too many people are being strung along right now.

As for your 7 month wait, I would go crazy. Part of my angst (and others who are waiting) is that there are banked points that need to be used. We basically cannot travel after December of 2011 until March of 2013 for various reasons, so I have a lot of points to use and the window is closing. I am envisioning a 10 day stay with 4 different moves--and that's going to make my wife crazy!

After talking to MS yesterday ,our points showed up today. coincidence? Perhaps:yay:

So that was 9 total calendar days before they showed up? Did they show up online, or did you call again?

Congratulations:cool1:! All your waiting is over! Did you book a trip or two already;)?

We are still waiting......... :confused3

We closed on our SSR resale on 4/11 and I spoke with MS yesterday.... not there yet.

I'm not planning on using the points until next spring so I'm not in a rush.... . but it would be nice to see them there.

I guess I'll sit back and relax. popcorn::

Update..... I just checked back on MS website and it shows my SSR contract has been added. :)

We made it into the system today as well. I called end of day for availability, and now have a general idea of what's available when we want to go and are hoping to book something in the morning. Looks like we won't get anything at BCV, as we had hoped, but this will give us a chance to check out some other spots.
