New Pirates Movie

Of course, I've seen the after credits, like 100x

Right after we saw POTC2 (and again after POTC3... same thing) both times I came back here to the DIS and mentioned the after credits scene and no one had any clue what I was talking about. You'd be surprised how many Disney fanatics know nothing about the scenes after the credits. At our local theaters, after both POTC movies there were only a couple people who actually stayed to see the after scenes.

Oh, I believe it...A lot of people just don't think to stay for the after credits...But I knew about them as I am admin for a POTC website, and I knew there would after credits.

It would basically mean that any plot involving breaking the curse could not occur for at least 10 years though...but it really didn't give me any sense that the curse WOULD be broken...

That's what I got from it too. 10 years at sea 1 day on land. No where was it stipulated he only has to be captain for 10 years. And if it was well then I guess I'll have to watch the movie again - Such a pity lol

Somewhere in the movie, I believe it's Calypso, explains how the curse works, don't quote me on this but I think she says the curse is borken if true love is waiting (or somethning along that line).

When PotC 3 came out on DVD, wasn't there a card inside that tried to explain all the loose plot points, including the effect of the curse? Not that I remember what it said, and not at home to look for it.

I am extremly excited about a Pirates of the Caribbean 4 coming out in a few years with Johnny Depp re-turning as the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow!!!!
I keep wondering what the Fountain of Youth will be like (that is if the film goes that way ). Once Disney release a date for the movie I will be counting it down to the day, just as I did for the fantastic sequals!!!! ​

We don't go to the theater much, but I have to admit... they made it really exciting in my town. There were decorations all over the theater and on the large sign at the street, and they even had LIVE people dressed as pirates sword fighting on the top of the movie theater!!! Complete with special effects! I can't remember what they were at the moment, but I remember thinking... "cool special effects on the theater top!" They were sold out all weekend. We dressed as pirates, and we saw others dressed as such, and even saw some goth chicks dressed as wenches! I've never seen them go all out for any other movie like they did for Pirates 2 & 3. Especially POTC3.

I LOVE Johnny Depp! I hope they bring back Barbarrosa. Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly are wonderful eye-candy, but don't have the star-power that Depp has.

SUPPOSEDLY, 2012.
And, yes, Barbossa will be back....Off course, Johnny has the star power! But, for me, I will feel something missing without OB & KK...JMHO.

I think if Elizabeth was faithful to him for those 10 years, then the curse is broken. I think that is why Davey Jones got caught up in the curse. Calypso wasn't faithful to him.

"Johnny Depp earned the House of Mouse over $2.6 billion with the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, which is why Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer have him on board for a fourth turn as Captain Jack Sparrow. That strikes me as incredibly sad. Even though they were pleasant enough, and the first one was a real kick iin the pants, the movies in that trilogy experienced a steady erosion in the fun factor as the later installments came out. And surely Depp has made enough money to buy France by now. But he's always had a love of roles that didn't require him getting a haircut, so there you go. "

I will agree that Pirates-3 was not a best effort; I thoroughly enjoyed the first 2. I would like to see nimber 4 get back the feeling of the first 2.

Now if Disney will only release Song Of The South.....
