New pirate makeover experience!

Yippee! Was finally able to book. The CM called the "Empress" Package the "Pirate Queen" Package, which actually sounds a lot better to me. Same stuff, just different name. I have my daughter an Elizabeth Swan outfit, so I think we're ready to go. We'll be going to Chef Mickey's afterward for dinner and then doing the Pirate and Pals cruise from the Contemporary Marina. I ordered a pirate chest mini-cake for Chef Mickey's. CM said it was only $9.95? Does that sound right? I figured no way I was getting that for less than $20. *shrug*

I asked my DD is she wanted to do the Pirate League the day we were having dinner at Chef Mickey's, but she said no...

she might scare the characters!pirate:

"Because remember Mom...there are characters there and they might be scared!" :rotfl:

Also wanted to add that unlike Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, they were not scheduling the Pirate League before 9:00 am when the MK opens.

Yeah, I had to make mine for 9 am sharp, but the CM assured me I could get early entry to make it there for the appt....

Just booked for a friend, july 26 first trip for there family they will be doing the pirate for son and bbb for daughter. They are very excited.

Well, I just tried again (have been calling since 5/11) and was told "no, it's still not loaded." I explained that I was aware of some people having made ressies and was told that you guys aren't being truthful. Hmmmm. I'll call back later and hope to get a different CM.

That's so weird!! I know my CM had a hard time finalizing mine, but she got it. Unless my confirmation number is a lie. LOL I would deffinitely try for a different CM!

I have my reservation complete for Friday July 17th pirate: So if you happen to see a 4 year old boy , his dad (that's me), his uncle and his grandpa all as pirates say hi!

I got an appt. for my daughter. It took a LONG time. I was on the phone for 40 minutes and they couldn't give me a lot of details. I told them to just book it and I'll figure out the rest later! She is going on June 30th.

Please keep us posted on this. I want to book it for September. I'm crossing my fingers for some kind of soft opening on it when we go in early June.

There is a soft opening planned, but it is for CM families and friends (which is why it may appear to be open if you go through Adventureland). You can not make advance reservations for the soft opening.

The CM I spoke with last night said there were going to be two girl options for costumes, of course Pirate Wench is the only one I can remember, sorry! But I did ask and she stated there are costumes for grown ups as well. :cool1:

As of one week ago (today) the area had not seen the costume, which is why no one is able to really describe it. I was told to think of it as a Pirate/Princess idea because it would be paired with the Empress package (which is feminine makeup applied darker).

They described it as a "tutu," but that was a male CM... I'm guessing it is more like a large puffy skirt (opposed to an out-right tutu). I can't remember, but I think they said the dress was pink? I do not recall any girl costumes with pants, but girls can wear the male costumes because they are designed with more of a unisex look.

My understanding is that all of the costumes are currently available, except for the new Swan dress... and of course the adult sizes will be new.

Thanks for all the info! I just booked this for July 16th for my 12yo ds and 3yo dd! I was excited they would have something to do together!:rotfl: The CM was teling me something about using a map.....Would love some more info!pirate:

Now I can't give away all the secrets!! But yes... unlike the BBB... you not only get a makeover but you also go through additional "experiences" one which does include a map.

We're planning to attend two MNSSHPs in September. My DD wants to do BBB and I was going to schedule that the afternoon of one party. Maybe I should schedule this for the afternoon of the other party! It sounds like fun!

I do have one odd or weird thought here about the adults...
I thought that adults were only allowed to "dress" for hard ticket events, so will WDW be allowing adult men (and maybe women) to run around in pirate costumes? I don't mean this in a bad way at all, because, honestly, my DH is dreaming up the day my DS turns 3 so they can go to PL together and dress as pirates and all that jazz. It sure sounds fun, but is it true that grown men (and women) will be allowed to dress as pirates at any time?

Yep - they sure can! I think the concern about adults wearing costume is that children may mistake them for actual Disney characters, which would be bad since Disney cannot control their behavior. However, even with the Sparrow package, it would still be pretty clear that they are not Jack Sparrow or another character. I haven't seen the Hook look yet, but I assume the same would be true there.

When they created the sample video (using adults) they were running all over the area in costume and therefore I assume it's expected.
