Tell me about the new pirate attraction at DHS! DBF is excited to see it either today or tomorrow.

My DH and DS did it last week. It's more like a show, and you stand for it. My DS was disappointed and said it was a bit kiddie, mainly the audience participation part.

Agreed.

I was pretty disappointed and NOT expecting to stand for the 10 minute show.

It's another "enhanced movie trailer" exhibit, along the lines of, and in the same space as,
the very disappointing "Narnia" exhibits of the past few years.

Anyone have any pictures?

We saw it a few weeks ago, but opted to skip it due to lines. But I want to check it out in May if it works out.

This somewhat reminds me of that (horrible) walk through narnia attraction they had a few years back... haha

That's what this replaced.

I had read terrible reviews of it, so I knew what to expect and knew I'd be standing for the whole thing. I also knew, thanks to Josh, that I needed to be in the very front on the right side if I was going to be able to see everything.
So, going in with very low expectations, I really enjoyed it. The technology is pretty cool and the "hologram" (not sure if that's what it is...seems like one) of Captain Jack is pretty lifelike.
It's not my favorite attraction, but it's a huge step up from Narnia.

I think its lame and not worth seeing even if there is no line. LOL We stood in a tiny room and watched some kid interact with Jack on a tv screen for about 30 seconds. The whole thing was maybe 10 min long. I felt like I was watching a short movie trailer. Of all the things Disney could do and they cop out with this. I was hoping it was going to be on par with something Universal does with their attractions but it wasn't.

Get there early, after TSM. Without a long wait to get in is really enjoyable.

Disney really blew it with Narnia on soooo many levels. They really wasted a great opportunity.

We skipped it our first day in DHS because it always had an hour or more wait. We did it right after going through TSMM and waited 20 minutes. DD17 and I really liked it. Two families with little kids walked out midway due to the scare factor, so beware of that if you have preschoolers. I thought the special effects were worth waiting to see.

And that Jack...it took me a while to figure out if he was a real actor or Johnny Depp on a screen. Very cool.

Bummer. Was really hoping that with all of the movie props and characters that they could do something productive with this one.:sad2::sad2: I guess we'll skip it when we go if it is similar to Narnia.

During our recent trip my Mom, DD17, DD11 and I all agreed this was the most disappointing "show" of our entire trip. The kids even liked the enchanted tiki hut better. We are big fans of the movies but this was a big thumbs down in our book, especially since we had to wait 45 minutes.

It is not by any means, a main attraction. I wouldn't wait for an hour to see it, but if like I said before, you go right after TSM you should be into the next entering group.

Like a PP said the image of Jack is so vivid! DW also fell for it. She was convinced that it was the best Jack Sparrow played by a Cast Member.

Based on the video, I think it looks pretty cool. Neat effects. I'm not sure what others were hoping for??
