New pirate attraction!!

Based on the video, I think it looks pretty cool. Neat effects. I'm not sure what others were hoping for??

Something more then a glorified movie trailer. Maybe something a little better then just a space filling time waster. I really was disappointed this is all they could come up with. We got in before it was open to the general public and the sign outside gave me high hopes. I pictured us all sitting in an audience while Capt Jack was maybe having a fight against another ship. Action all around us. More like real people like the Nemo attraction in AK. Not some rinky dink room where we were all squished together and watching a hologram of Capt Jack talk for 5 min. I wished they asked people what they thought when we were leaving.

Boring, and the CM was not very thoughtful. My boyfriend and I decided to see what it was like and as we were all filing into one room I took my place at the front. The CM instructed me to move forward still and she had put me so far up, along with a few others, that we couldn't see anything at all!! Such a waste of time!

I had read terrible reviews of it, so I knew what to expect and knew I'd be standing for the whole thing. I also knew, thanks to Josh, that I needed to be in the very front on the right side if I was going to be able to see everything.
So, going in with very low expectations, I really enjoyed it. The technology is pretty cool and the "hologram" (not sure if that's what it is...seems like one) of Captain Jack is pretty lifelike.
It's not my favorite attraction, but it's a huge step up from Narnia.

I think I read the same thing you did! I knew what to expect from it, and I liked it well enough - because I knew what it was going to be, and my DD6 really enjoyed it. She's a big Pirates of the Caribbean fan. My teenagers opted out of it and went to ride ToT instead. But me and the little kids had fun.

How frustrating. You'd think she'd know where it couldn't be seen. :crazy2:

im quite looking forward to this, watched the full show on youtube and it looks fun and quite good.

i wasnt ever expecting much so when i saw the set and the jack sparrow projection it does look funny.

cant wait

Had you not been in the space before when it was the Narnia exhibit? I never expected this would be a full-fledged show but a walk-through exhibit. Everything I read prior to it opening seemed pretty clear about that. I assumed it would be the same sort of thing as Narnia, just with a different theme. It looks to me like a better attraction than Narnia was.

I never went to the Narnia exhibit.

I had no expectations whatsoever.

And we really really liked it.

:thumbsup2

I would totally do it again, though.

I think its lame and not worth seeing even if there is no line. LOL We stood in a tiny room and watched some kid interact with Jack on a tv screen for about 30 seconds.

When was that part? There was nothing like that when we saw it. Oh do you mean when the skull or Jack (can't recall) asks for the key and the person who was chosen for the key holds it up? We were back near that spot so just turned around...maybe we didn't notice that person (who was a child) was on a TV as well?

And that Jack...it took me a while to figure out if he was a real actor or Johnny Depp on a screen. Very cool.

It was amazing, wasn't it? SO cool and lifelike.

We were waaaay in the back which we felt was a pretty good place to be, and so we were among the last to leave, and we took our time as we filed out, just looking at things. It was done in a really interesting way, in our opinions. But then DH and I both did props, lights, sound, etc in theater in HS (and I did it in college too for a short bit), so we're always interested in that sort of thing.

But we felt the show was cool, too. We're glad we saw it!

I saw it last week.

After walking past the line that always seemed to be 45 mins long on previous visits, one morning I headed straight there at park opening and waited all of 5 minutes.

I never saw Narnia so I can't compare and I knew it was shoehorned into a small space so I wasn't expecting much, but on many other attractions, this would be the pre-show, like the Frank Kincaid introduction to "DISASTER" at Universal Studios.

It was cute, but I'm sure glad I didn't line up for it.
