Hi Everyone,

I am looking to purchase an annual pass for an upcoming trip. I have several questions I hope someone can help answer:
1. Once I purchase the pass, will I be able to book a room using the passholder discount immediately? I am looking to purchase the Preferred using FlexPay.
2. Same question regarding purchasing a 3 day 2 park ticket with the 15% discount?
3. If I am staying at a Universal hotel, can I get my annual pass at the hotel or do I need to go to one of the ticket windows?

TIA for any advice/help you can provide!

-Jess

I have just recently purchased an AP for Universal, but it did not show anywhere (app or website) until I picked it up at the front gate and used it to enter the park.

The year started counting from the the first day it was used, not from the day it was bought.

So i’m guessing you would have to use it first to get the hotel discount.

But this was my first and only experience with AP, I would wait for someone with better knowledge to answer

We got an AP discount for our upcoming December stay and intend to purchase the AP at check-in. There was no request for info about it to book.

1. You can book the AP rate now, you don't need to get the AP first. It just needs to be activated by the time you check out.
2. I think you need to do this in person? Note that the price at the gate is a little higher than the online price. There is also a deal right now for buy 3 days get 2 free.
3. You can normally pick up the AP at the hotel, I'm not 100% sure if that is true using FlexPay also.

You can book an AP or FL resident rate without showing proof at booking, but may be asked to show proof at the hotel. My understanding is that if you can’t then the rate reverts to rack rate.

The discount isn’t great because the gate price is higher than the online price, so you’re not saving as much as you think. You might want to find out the gate price for the dates you’re going and compare to the online price before deciding.

You can pick up a paid-in-full pass at any hotel that has a UO desk, including the offsite partner hotels. My understanding is that you cannot do this for flex pay tickets, so you may need to go to the parks for this.
