A pro of SSR is that you can walk to Disney Springs. This is made easier by booking a preferred room and being in the Congress Park section. Otherwise, you may need to take the internal bus to that section to walk over to DS. Its a sprawling resort.
POR has the boat to Disney Springs. Its enjoyable and peaceful, but its time consuming at about 25-30 minutes each way. Add another 10 minutes or so onto that which you may spend waiting for a boat in either direction.
POR has better quick service options. Deluxe resorts always have more limited selection than moderates or values because of the TS restaurants deluxe resorts have. So if you plan to eat at the resort at all, POR would be better for that. And we think they have one of the best food courts on property.
