New one bag per person check-in at resorts

where are you able to get the owners locker and how much do they cost

Check out ownerslocker.com. They have been running some specials. At first it seems to be a large expense but believe me when I can get on the plane with a carryone, that fits under the seat, it is well worth it.

Hmmm I wonder how Disney will react to the AA $15 fee. They'll probably have to eliminate AA from the airlines they service or else work something out with AA.

You can check your bags at the resort and drive yourself to MCO. We did it in March and August, it was great.

I imagine they will still check passengers with only carry-ons at the resorts, otherwise you'll have to check in at the airport. :sad2:

Once again... I am 99.99999% sure that Disney has nothing to do with the check-in process at the resorts. This is NOT part of the magical express program. It is the same as curb-side check-in... except it is off-airport.

The pickup and delivery of bags on arrival to WDW... IS part of the Magical Express program..

I almost choked when I saw that. We are grandfathered in by purchasing our tickets before the extra bag charge started, so I though we were cool with 2 checked bags. I can NOT travel with one checked bag. Can't do it. With the liquid restrictions we need one bag dedicated to liquids, shoes, and whatever other stuff we need. I know we can do laundry, but to avoid having to do laundry over and over again I need a fair amount of stuff for 16 nights in August. The outfits we start in will be gross by midday.:scared:

When we went last year for 9 nights we had 5 checked bags for the 3 of us, so I am quite certain I can't do 16 nights with 3 checked bags. Grrr!

I guess we'll be checking in at the airport. :headache:

On a recent trip out of Hartford... there was a soldier who was really distressed when his excess luggage fee was $150. I felt bad for him... and so did the folks at the counter. They took two of his big bags... and boxed them into a single package... which reduced his charge to $125.

We used to pack too much. Now I can travel indefinitely with carry-on only. It is 10000X more fun!!!

I could fly with one bag going down, and had a canvas bag tucked away to bring back souvenirs. Guess that's toast.

I always took advantage of the washer/dryer. Now, it's a must have.

That's odd. All the reading I've done has military folks excluded from the extra baggage charges. Which airline charged a soldier for an extra bag?

I wish they would just increase the prices. I think it is terrible to impose fees and change fees after you have purchased a ticket.

With so many airlines charging the fees now I could see RAC counters changing to charge for baggage not necessarily soon but eventually. More reason to look in an owners locker.

They aren't imposing fees and charging fees after you've purchased a ticket- they tell you in advance. No surprises.

It really seems like they should just jack up the airfares rather than an add a luggage fee. Because you just know they will raise the airfares again soon anyway. Adding a fee to check a bag is just going to result in more people bringing carry-on, and more headaches getting everyone seated and taking off. :confused3

Plus, it just seems to me like a bad business move. The exclusions to the luggage fee offered up by AA to elite members and first class passengers and such really are what gets me. Either everyone pays or no one pays. It will end up souring public perceptions about air travel and airlines even more.

I have to say that with cost of fuel rising as it is and all the changes that airlines are just begining to impose, most of future Disney trips will be via car and not air. Sure it takes about 9 hours longer but it is quickly becoming much cheaper and less hassle for my family of 4!

NOW they are.

Because the DOT told them, about a week ago, that that's the way they have to do it.

PRIOR to the May 15th edict by the DOT.....Delta, at least, and possibly others, were NOT making it clear to people, and were not "grandfathering" tickets purchased prior to their announcemtnt. People were showing up and getting hit with a fee they weren't expecting.

I gotta say...the more I read about this stuff by the airlines, the more happy I am that we've chosen to drive down, rather than fly, for our trips.

Airfares have skyrocketed, their service and "on time" % are awful, and now they're charging me extra to bring baggage. ESPECIALLY AA, with their new $15 fee for your FIRST bag...that's just ridiculous. I understand the reasoning, and that they're in financial straits, but...well..so are the rest of us. And you're going to have a hard time convincing me to fly for personal reasons, when I'm footing the bill, if you raise prices and lower value. I just can't justify it.

We'll keep an eye out for good deals, because at some point the speed (2 hours vs 2 days) outweighs the cost savings...but all things considered, it's looking like it will have to be darn cheap air fare to get me to even think about flying.....

I have to say that I don't think that the carry-on situation will be any worse than it is now. What I expect they will have to start doing is enforcing carry on size limits more now. I fly frequently and I am often upset by the airlines lack of enforcement in regards to carry-ons. I have been knocked in the head countless times by people who try to stuff full size suitcases in overhead bins. I see them watching this much more carefully now as it directly will impact their revenue.

I have a question of the owners lockers. Do people store clothes in them as well. and how many clothes can be stored. For a family of 5 with teenage girls I can;t see how one would do it and if I had to pay for two lockers can pay a lot of luggage charge before it is saves anything. Do they deliver it to the room or just the bell stand.
