New "Official" Frozen: 2015 Frozen Summer Fun June 17 to Sept 7!

video from WDWMagic. At the end you can see that Elsa's float broke down at the beginning of the route, she had to walk. Also it looks like the best spot if you don't have the package is along Hollywood Blvd across from Starbucks for the first stop

We are doing Premium package today. Arrived at bag check very close to 9AM, but did not see if there was a rope drop show or not. Excitement got to my DD, and we stopped at first aid for a rest/cool off before checking in for our package at 9:15AM at Min&Bill's. Got the last 2 tickets for 9:30 Sing Along, and got to meet @lovethattink in delayed line for the show, and thanked her for this wonderful thread. The premium guests were escorted from the sing along to the reserved spot for the parade, or we would not have made it in time. We were not able to fit in the taped off kids section, but were three people back sitting for parade. Not able to get refreshments until after the parade--left with a strawberry lemonade bar, frozen lemonade, and water bottle. Heading back this evening for party and fireworks after a break from the heat.

Love these live updates! Was there an opening show today? (I know you missed rope-drop but just curious if you've heard anything)

NO opening show!! This will make many happy!!

I tried to book the frozen package this am. The sight is being glitchy of course. I know we did it last year but I loved it.

Try calling!

MAN I HOPE THEY EXTEND THIS ANOTHER MONTH INTO EARLY OCT!!! (sorry for the all caps ;)) Here's hoping.

Dan

With MNSSHP, I doubt it will be extended.

is the area close to Echo Lake and the busts for the parade stop then? I think I read that they didn't stop at the stage?

I don't know. I only viewed from the exit area and they went by us quickly.

Last year it was extended through September 28th, so I think there is some hope. I'm sure they are going to see how popular it is this year before deciding. We will be there Sept. 12, so I'm hoping they decided to extend too.

Just some quick notes before I download pictures:

There is NO opening show.

Sing-along:

1. Best seating is middle of theater and middle to back rows.
2. It's a raised stage making it difficult for small people to see in front rows. We sat in the front row to the left, had a great view of the historians when they were off to the left side of the stage. Otherwise, the stage is much larger than at the Premiere Theater making it difficult see or take pictures.
3. The package guests and the standby w/c guests cannot see the screen in the holding area. I hope when this is read, they will consider adding a screen or adjusting one of the others so that these guests can see the "pre-show."
4. The set looks fantastic!
5. The picture on the screen is very vivid, but up front you can see all the individual rectangles that make up the screen. I found that distracting at times.
6. The lighting effects are pretty neat.
7. Elsa's entrance is more dramatic and effective than it was at the Premiere.

Parade:

1. Anna and Kristoff interact with guests during the procession! They are wearing microphones.
2. If you are in a hurry and want to catch the parade quickly, the area by the Backlot Express and Star Tours is not a stopping area, so they are through there in 5 minutes, but take about 20 minutes to arrive. Also the entrance gate up to the Mickey Crossroads tower is another place to see a quick 5 minute parade. They fly by there in less than 5 minutes.
3. The left side of Hollywood BLVD was shaded during the 10:30am parade, but not at the 1:30pm parade.
4. No children walking in the parade.
5. The parade stops along most of Hollywood BLVD, flag people stop by the package.
6. We need to find out where near the Hyperion the parade stops.

There is a new Olaf drink container.

A Frozen shopping kiosk and an icecream/drink cart are located across from the funnel cake stand by Indy.

A drink tent is located between the Hyperion theater and the Premium package viewing area. I didn't see a menu, but the ski display outside it was kind of cool.

It would be great if they could at least keep some of it.

Dan

The sing-along is permanent!

I hope it's as successful as last year and they keep it longer too!

so no snow section for the kids this year right? cause i thought no but my wife saw on the app today that it said it was open and she said yesterday it said it was closed?

thanks! heading over tonight for the fireworks. just going to wing it and hope for a decent spot on hollywood blvd.

anyone know how busy it is over there now?

jim

@lovethattink Thank you so much for all the info and live reports! We were going to skip the parade & sing-a-long this year since we saw them last year, but I may have to try to talk DW into at least one of them since it sounds like both are different from last year.

@Gianfootography Thank you for the pictures & info on last year's dance party too! We have 4 adults & 2 kids in our group, so (if this year's party is similar) it sounds like we could leave a couple of adults stationed with the stroller in a good fireworks spot while the other adults take the kids up to dance with the characters.

Looking forward to reports from tonight's dance party & fireworks!

No more snowground :(

There are "SNOAP" machines around the parade route though.

Compared to SWW it felt empty.

You're welcome. The parade is a little different, and the sing-along is a bit different too with the new venue. Check out the walls occasionally. I wasn't expecting any effects there. There weren't as many special effects as I was expecting. But the walls were interesting.

I am back home, so my day of FSF is over.

We are doing the premium package in Sept. Can you pick which sing-a-long time you want to attend?

You could last year and I believe you can this year. We picked the last singalong that was available and after it was over it was time to head to the desert party. We just only waited like 3 minutes and it was time for the desert party. Which was nice we scheduled all our FP for the afternoon.

Woohoo!!! First we say goodbye (to SWW) now we say hello! (Frozen Summer!)

Great show off the balcony tonight, I camped out after 9:30 and it paid off. So now I don't have to wait until the weekends, do I get this treat each night of summer? (Yay!)

Definitely going to see in person but very happy. I was basically resigning myself to the normal Wishes and Illum (Illum is harder to see now that the trees have leaves, but very bright in the winter) and I just had a little hope for Frozen fireworks. So I am super delighted!!

Yes. I didn't see anyone with tickets like last year. @ryggmom did it today. Hopefully she will chime in and say how it worked.
When we checked in for our package we were given the choice of sing along times. We picked the last two tickets for the 9:30 show. We gave them to the CM at the package entrance for the sing along.

Saw the first Frozen Fireworks tonight and they were great! Interaction during the show with the characters, and timed beautifully to the songs from the movie. They started about 9:40 instead of 9:30 like it says on the times guide, but it could have been a 1st night thing. DJ played past 9:30 and the last few songs were from Frozen which got the crowd going.

Agree that the sing-a-long is better than last year. The historians were great, and seemed to ad lib quite a bit. They were amusing each other as well as the crowd. Less stiff than the normally scripted Disney fare.
