New "Official" Frozen: 2015 Frozen Summer Fun June 17 to Sept 7!

That is the old location. The new one is the old American Idle stage near the Old Sorcerer hat to the left.

So I know now that GMR and TSMM close early due to Frozen fireworks, but do they reopen after fireworks during pm EMH? If so, about what time?

ABC Comissary and Backlot Express both list a 10:30 opening time.......hoping that we can finally a place open before 11, because our plan is usually just snacks in the room for breakfast and then we eat a very early lunch as soon as we can, which I know was 10:30 for "most" places on our last trip. If we get desperate (teenage boys are ALWAYS a hungry :drinking1) I'm sure we can find somewhere to get a snack :)

Backlot Express would be your best option. The parade starts at 10:30 and will probably make it to the restaurant around 10:45-ish. Have them sit outside at the tables near Star Tours and they'll be able to see the parade, though they may have to get out of their seats for a better view.

The parade does not go by ABC Comissary.

Just heard about the Wandering Oaken playground. Is this part of this event or is it something that is more (semi?) permanent. We're going next May and it sounds really cool. Also, there seems to be a ice skating rink. Just can't find details on if it's for everyone or not.

No Snowground or Oaken's this year. Several stores will carry Frozen Merchandise, as well as carts.

Sorry....where is the Hyperion Theater? I've heard people mention that the FSAL is moving to there, but can't find it labeled on a map, either the PDF Map off the website or the map on the MDE app. The map is showing the FSAL at some place labeled Premiere Theater, which looks tucked down past the Muppet movie. Is this the old location?

The singalong is moving from the Premiere to the old AIE theater. It's located near the event stage.

Yes, they did.

@Itinkso you knew this answer last year. Do you remember? I cannot.

How difficult is it to move around the park during these Frozen activities (the parade and the fireworks)? How long does the parade last?

I am there with FP+'s before/during the fireworks during EMH night and the same goes for a different morning in regards to the parade. I'm going to need to be able to move between the Toy Story area and TT/RnR area.

During the parade all of Hollywood Blvd and the street going past the Hyperion out to Star Tours is closed. There is a gate to backstage that will open near the entrance on the right side by the restrooms. It will take you out to sunset Blvd. From there, the pathway near Starring Rolls to Hollywood Brown Derby is open. From there you can get back to the animation area and pinar place. You can also travel behind the hat to GMR.

To get to star tours, muppets from the front of the park, you'd have to go from Sunset, past Brown Derby, past Pixar Place, past the Prop Shop and Studio Catering.

Thanks for answering so quickly. Am I interpreting this correctly? When you are referring to 'backstage' - you mean if I was in the Fantasmic! theater?

No it's near there. But just a little quick path out to Sunset that is usually cm only.

It's possible that park hours could still change and another F! added.
Schedule is up, Forzen fireworks are at 9pm, fantasmic at 8:30, what are out chances of getting a good spot of the fireworks? Otherwise I may just move our dates around or add an extra day to our ticket to see fantasmic another day.

I'm on my way to pick up the times guide for FSF!!! We ate checking out of CBR and I called to see if they were in yet. They are!!

New info on Disney Parks blog. New parade float, Olaf Summer Cool down, etc.

yes, I posted them last week on the first post of this thread after a heads up from another DISer!! So excited!!

Just to be sure, if the second Fantasmic! is scheduled at 10:30 with a 10:00pm closing and 10pm-12a EMH.....off site guests can still attend the second F! Right?

Trying to make sure I am okay seeing the Frozen fireworks then heading to Fantasmic!

And after the person on the phone assured me they would be at concierge, the one and only person manning the concierge had no clue. So on wild goose chase.

That was a wild good chase that ended in a dead end. CM had no clue. She told me it was at MK from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Totally clueless. I leave empty handed. :(

When there are 2 F! it's open for all park guests. Just check on your off site's transportation scedule if using it.

Thank-you, I thought so but then started to get nervous. Looks like we will cancel our F! Dining lunch and plan to do fireworks then the second F! We will have a car so transportation is not an issue. Thanks again!

Can anyone doing of just going confirm where the preferred packages reserved spots are?
Thanks. I'm just wondering if it moved from last summer.

Wow... that interesting... I guess we should make note that FSF has changed it's location to MK for just those 3 hours a day! Wacky!

Back for a 2nd year, Frozen Summer Fun takes center stage at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Whether you are a fan of Frozen or not, there is something for you at DHS! Not a singer? Don't worry the comedy of the historians will keep you entertained at the Frozen Sing-Along. Love to sing? You can belt it out along with the film clips. Can't get enough Frozen? Then this is for you, from seeing your favorite Frozen characters to eating delicious Frozen inspired treats, your day can be filled with Frozen Fun!

Frozen Summer Fun Planning
(Based on times for June 17th, Opening Day. Be sure to check the Times Guide on your day of visit as hours may change.)
For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration:
9:30am
11:30am
12:30pm
2:30pm
3:30pm
4:30pm
5:30pm
6:30pm
7:30pm
8:30pm
(Hint: The best seating is in the middle and back. The front rows have lousy viewing, unless you want a kink in your neck. Difficult for children to get a good view in the first few rows since they are typically smaller in statue and the stage is raised.

My guess is that the package viewing will be back at least a few rows more to the middle section.)

Frozen Royal Welcome (ie. Parade/Procession)

10:30am
1:30pm
(There will be 2 stops during the parade. One stop is on Hollywood BLVD, the other at the Hyperion Theater. I expect the procession to end at Star Tours like last year, but do not have confirmation.)

Olaf's Summer Cool Down Stage Show

11:30am
12:30pm
2:30pm
3:30pm
4:30pm
5:30pm
(Since the dance party starts at 5:45 and there is a show a 5:30, I'd assume OSCD is approximately 15 minutes long.)

Coolest Summer Ever Dance Party

5:45pm to 9:30pm
(Last year there was also a live band, this year it looks like DJ Elliot will spin tunes like he is for SWW.)

Frozen Fireworks Spectacular

9:30
(I do not recommend viewing F! before fireworks. It is much easier to see the fireworks then go to F!. If you choose to view the first F!, when you exit the show, stay left. If you are lucky you will come out on a fully packed Hollywood BLVD. All the good viewing on that road will be taken, but if you cut through the stores over to Echo Lake near 50's PTC you can have good viewing of the fireworks just no music piped in. If you are not lucky, you will exit F! on Sunset BLVD, where you cannot see fireworks and the area gets bottlenecked.

The fireworks are designed for best viewing on Hollywood BLVD. That street will get very crowded, it's not good area for those who are claustrophobic or don't like crowds. It's a great area for pictures of the fireworks. @@Missyrose got fabulous pictures from there posted in her TR.

If you can't see the stage, be sure you can see a jumbotron screen. The characters take the stage before and during the show.

Frozen Fever:
Shown at the ABC Sound Studio throughout the day.

"Walt Disney World Resort will kick off the “Coolest Summer Ever” with 24 hours of nonstop fun during a special event May 22-23 at the Magic Kingdom, hosted by Olaf, the summer-loving snowman from Disney’s blockbuster animated hit “Frozen.”

“Frozen” Summer Fun LIVE will bring together Princess Anna, Queen Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf with citizens of Arendelle, all appearing daily in shows and experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, June 17-Sept. 7. Guests will find cool thrills this summer including a royal processional, a sing-along show, Frozen-themed treats and merchandise, plus a Frozen fireworks display above Hollywood Blvd" In addition, Disney's website lists Hot Frozen Nights DJ Dance Party and Olaf's Summer Cool Down.

Information announced via Disney Parks Blog on 3/18/15:

"This summer-long special event features a full day of “Frozen” fun from park open to park close, including a royal procession, a sing-along celebration, fun photo opportunities, “Frozen” merchandise, specialty food and beverage offerings and a grand finale fireworks spectacular.

  • Frozen Royal Welcome – Twice each day, Anna, Elsa and Kristoff take part in a festive cavalcade throughout Hollywoodland, accompanied by the Royal Arendelle Flag Corps and a flurry of skaters, skiiers and ice cutters – along with lovable snowman, Olaf. Anna leads the procession in a beautiful horse-drawn sleigh, with Elsa gliding by on a stunning, ice palace float. The entire procession pauses twice along the route in tribute to these visitors from Arendelle, as everyone in Hollywoodland is invited to join in singing “Let It Go!” (10:30am and ?)
  • For the First Time in Forever: A “Frozen” Sing-Along Celebration – Just in time for this year’s “Frozen” Summer Fun LIVE event, this popular show moves into the beautiful Hyperion Theater (formerly Superstar Television Theater), located right in the heart of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Royal Historians of Arendelle host a fun and comedic retelling of the unique story of their kingdom, filled with delightful, sing-along moments from “Frozen,” plus all-new in-theater effects and special appearances by Anna, Elsa and Kristoff.

  • Olaf’s Summer Cool Down – Several times each day, the Ambassador of Hollywoodland brings Olaf and some of his friends to the Event Stage to have a little fun with everyone “In Summer.” And as temperatures heat up, Olaf happily shares a burst from his personal snow cloud to cool things off.

  • “Coolest Summer Ever” Dance Party – Once the sun goes down, a dance party takes over the area around the Event Stage, with DJ Chill and some of your favorite Disney characters. Using a special event hashtag, you can share song requests and photos over social media, to be featured onscreen during the party.

  • “Frozen” Fireworks – As the night comes to a close, Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf come together at the Event Stage for a grand finale to the day’s festivities, kicking off an awe-inspiring fireworks display set to the glorious music of “Frozen” and, of course, a flurry of snow!"
Royal Processional: Offered Twice (announced 3/18/15)
Thanks so much for this post!! We r doing the frozen stuff for the first time and I was trying to figure out what times everything was at! This helps soooo much!!

Can anyone doing of just going confirm where the preferred packages reserved spots are?
Thanks. I'm just wondering if it moved from last summer.

As far as I know, the same place as last year. Only other possible alternative would be near Mickey's Crossroads where the SWW Premium Package was.
