A colleague just got back from her trip (which I helped plan) and just seeing her pictures made me so anxious for my own trip!

I can't wait to start packing for real. I'm one of the crazy ones who loves to pack!

111 more days. :moped:

February will be my first time back in 20 years. DH and i will be driving from PA. Has anyone been to the world in february before? What crowd level can we expect the week before presidents day?

We went the week before Presidents Day in 2011 and it was delightful!! The weather can really vary so be prepared for any scenario. On our trip is was warm enough to swim in the daytime, but not too hot.. maybe 75?
The evenings got cool though and a jacket was required. The crowds were great until the end of our trip. It started to get busy as people rolled in for Presidents week. It was still fun though:)

Awesome! No, we've never stayed at AKL before. It will be our first time, too! WE ARE SO EXCITED!

Hopefully we will see each other at some point! :)

You guys will love Kidani village! We stayed there in Feb. 2010 in a 1 bedroom and loved every minute of it. The CMs were great, the room was perfect with plenty of space and quiet, and the overall resort was outstanding. We had a standard view, which was no big deal since there are viewing windows and outdoor areas all over the place. The couple things people complain about is the lack of quick service at Kidani and the long bus rides to the parks. Personally, we had no problem hopping the bus to Jambo for quick service meals and the bus rides to the parks were fine since AKL has its own dedicated buses. I hope y'all have a great time!

Totally agree about loving AKL. So far, this is my favorite resort. We stayed in Jambo in April, and it was amazing. It's beautiful and has so much to do and there are giraffe's everywhere. How does it get any better than that?

Thanks pigletto! :)

With the lower crowds, what's anyone's opinion on having to use Fast Pass in February? This will be my first trip where Fast Pass is an option. Honestly, my head was spinning with booking packages and ADRs, and I don't know if I"m the kind of person who would want to juggle ride times too. If I tour the parks in a traditional "area by area" method, will I be doomed to long ride waits?

I have never been in Feb, so I can't comment on how the lines will be, but in general, we always use FP no matter what. If the regular line is 30 minutes, the FP line will probably be less than 5. But don't stress about it. If it's too much for you, then don't. See how you feel in the moment.

We usually go in January and February when the crowds are at their lowest. We usually end up using a fast pass for just a few rides, and then only if there is a line. Most rides have very short lines or no lines at that time of year.

Just booked 5 nights at the Pop during President's week. :cool1: Should be interesting! I'm really going as a tour guide! My aunt wants to take her teenage grandchildren to Disney World (Hence going during a school break). The only park my aunt has ever been in is Epcot and the only ride she goes on is Soarin'. Since she knows that I go often she asked if I'd go and help to make sure that the kids had a magical trip! She even offered to pay my plane fare... so how could I go wrong?!?! :cheer2: I love planning disney trips, so I can't wait to start working on the schedule once I talk to the kids about the attractions on their "must do" lists! I'm not used to going with teenagers anymore since my kids are all grown up... but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we all have an excellent time together! pixiedust:

Fortunately, Mara is about the best CS in WDW, IMHO.

You're a girl after my own heart, another Kathy who loves giraffes.

Thanks pigletto! :)

We were there last February (the week before President's Week) and thanks to Fast Pass got to ride my favorite "Soarin'" twice one day. So I know FP is still helpful on the key attractions even during lower crowd times.

Wow, how nice! We've stayed in Jambo House twice and loved it but did not stay CL. Have you signed up for the Sunrise Safari? If we could ever stay CL I would book that for sure. We have gone on the Sunset (Wanyama) Safari and loved it.
