New Offer Coming per Touring Plans (Free Dining)

Question, so in reading this thread it sounds as if - IF free dinning is offered, each hotel gets a certain number of rooms they can apply free dinning for and then you are just out of luck - is that correct? If so, do you know if it's a certain number of rooms period (i.e. 100 rooms per hotel) or is it a certain number of rooms per month or per week that they can offer it for? I am guessing the minute it's announced everyone on the dis will be online booking or calling. So what are the chances of getting it if you manage to get through the first day? Can they really be all gone in a few hours? To be honest before I found the dis I never really knew to look for pins and discounts and FD and so on so I'm guessing many of the general public doesn't realize it as well. So dissers will be all over it but will others? Do I still have a shot of getting it if I manage to get through on the first day or do you really need to call during the first few hours??

TIA

I highly doubt free dining would get sold out for every resort and every date on the first day - like previous posters have said - you may have to be a bit flexible. However I doubt Disney would invest in a general public nation wide/worldwide marketing promo if they only had say 100 rooms to book.;) As for who will be "all over it" - every travel agent (nationwide/worldwide depending on the promotion) will get a heads up the week before a promo comes out - PS they are not permitted to reveal any information to the public until it goes into effect) so it's definitely not only the dissers that will be calling in.:scared1:
Here's hoping for Monday!:cheer2:

You know, this makes me wonder what will be left to book for North America. The U.K. has their offer, we already had our offer earlier in the year, and now this.
TP said rumors of a tasty discount.. they didn't say North America again:confused:

I certainly hope it's offered here, but this makes me wonder.

I'm not really worried about the allears.net post because it does say "like previous years" so they might typically get the FD promo before us. As for the UK, they always get the free dining deal before the US and Canada. http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html

Chase Disney Visa holders usually get the free dining promo 3 days before the general public, so they will be all over it first.

Really the U.K. and other foreign fd offers never have anything to do with the FD offers that come out for the U.S. The dates rarely coinside and the pricing and details are often different too. I wouldn't give too much thought to the foreign fd offers as it hasn't had any noticable impact on U.S. fd offers in the past.

I will have to look at the math. We've got the kids stay and play free in September. Dont know if FD will be worth the change or not. Looking forward to the PoP.

Ok, I'm not one for getting anyones hopes up, but the WDW site is down right now. Could that mean a new special offer is coming?

Storming, can't sleep, and I really wanted to price out a Christmas trip tonight......Any rumors as to how late in the year the new discount is supposed to go?????? We get the while week before Christmas off from school this year, and that never happens!:cool1: (Just saw the new calendar yesterday and I'm still excited about the possibilities:rotfl:)

With the site being down, has anyone tried to call? I was going to call to check some numbers, but figured if the site was down, the computers would probably be down at the call centers too.

Usually that is the way it works.

Well, I called and they can see my reservation. I am currently booked with a room only rate and have added tickets. I wanted to see how much it would be to add the dining plan to my reservation. When I originally booked, I was told at any time I could change my room only to a package, but this CM I spoke to told me I couldn't unless I canceled my current reservation. I currently have the 30% off so I am not doing that, guess they don't want my money

Dying here waiting , but I have a feeling nothing new will come out until the current offer expires. I hope I'm wrong.:rolleyes1

That was what I was told when looking at the possibility of booking a room only or package reservation. I also have read the same from fellow DISers in the past. If you had added tickets and the dining plan to the original 30% off reservation when booking, it would have been a package. Now after the fact you have to cancel the room only and book a package. Strange how WDTC works sometimes. :confused3

Never get the same answer twice, when I called and added the tickets, was asked if I wanted to turn it into a package and said yes, but they didn't do it and now I can't, will call back later and see if I get a different answer.

Still waiting and waiting and waiting..... I am going to be out of the country May 5th through 28th, so would really LOVE to hear before then!!!!
