New Offer Coming per Touring Plans (Free Dining)

Totally bummed on the dates of this offer. Agree w/ previous posters....why nothing for arrivals on 8/14 through end of August???? :confused3

Well, trying to be optimistic and spread some pixie dust: by NOT having FD during this period, we'll have lower crowds!!!!:goodvibes

But why do i still feel so sad!:confused3

Also, I think it's interesting they require 2day minimum ticket AND the photobook pkg.

They already had FD for 8/19- Sept. I got it. I have 8/19-8/27 with FD. They offered it in December- so I don't know if the crowds will be any different.

I'm looking forward to this FD. My family and I have been waiting for something like this for end of August/September.

It’s frustrating for sure. Especially when this visitors for this particular time frame has had ample amount of discounts to choose from throughout last year and this year. The Oct-Dec crowd just has to be patient. We’ll get our chance I’m sure.

I'm also hoping for October free dining. Come on Mickey! :goodvibes

Ummm, I mentioned 8/14. There is stsill no FD for that week. There's a plan that goes up to arrivals on 8/13...then the one starting 8/19 and now one beginning 8/28....but nothing for the week of 8/14....

Well. Gee... Bummer. I hope they extend the dates into Nov./Dec. I'm sure a lot of people do.

Thank you ms.ojo--that's what I've been saying! Why exclude that one week?!? The only thing I can figure is they got enough 8/13 arrivals through the pin code to fill up that week. :confused3

Let's hope you're right about low crowds and short lines. At least it would be something, right?

Saw this on Intercot as well. You pay for the Photobook!

I just rebooked my trip using the Disney Visa free dining offer. They did tell me I was going to receive the photobook, but told me it was free. I tried to figure out the math but not sure what they did.

2 adults 2 kids (4 and 11). 7 nights at POP. I originally had the "kids stay/play free" offer and everything came to $1800. Hotel/tkts (4 day w/water park fun)
and no dining.

now: $2345
Upgraded to basic dining which costs me $11 more per adult person per day $231 total and I have to pay for my youngest park tickets which is $280.

$2345-1800=$545 $545-$280-$231=$34.00 I think that is what I am paying for the photo book. Does any of this make sense or did I just confuse everyone including myself????:confused:

Yeah - unfortunately, like so many disers have said, the free dining dates have been shrinking every year as well as what is included in the package. Now (as mentioned above) we have to pay for a photopass book in order to get free dining.

I'm not too upset about the book. I'm paying less than I was going to so any savings makes me :cool1:

Looks like it is $90.90 more than if you had already booked Free dining when it first came out!

Checked the photopass site and book is less if you purchase it separately.

Nice deal if you don't have free dining..no deal if you already have a discount!

Actually, we were booked with a 35% off pin at CBR. 2A, 2C (5&2) and already had added DDP and this will save us $190. My parents and grandparents are in another room so 4A with the 35% off and DDP, this will save them $750 so you have to do the math!

Yes, you are technically paying $99.95 for the book. For $545 you are getting the food and photobook. That's about half what you would pay normally for the DDP so a good deal IMO and the photobook is a bonus!

WE are going the end of October beginning of Nov. I have to be there for the 2,3,4,5, of Nov due to a conference. DH and I would like to have FD and will upgrade to Deluxe if offered. We will stay at POP. We do have flexibility in the dates. Just as long I am there for the 2,3,4,5.

Let's hope for free dining.

What do you think the bedt way to go would be for us. Room discount or FD?

I definitely think its a good deal!!!:thumbsup2 But I thought for my $545 I was paying for my youngest daughters ticket $280 (because it WAS free with the stay/play) and the upgrade from the quick service to the basic dining $231. That leaves $34 left. I dont mean to be difficult, I just know my husband will ask:)

Do you have kids? If so, what are their ages? How many nights are you staying?

Was it exactly $1800? kids 4 day w/ water park and more is $263. That leaves you with $51. :confused3 I know they are adding $99.95 for the photobook.

That $263 did not include tax. I guess it doesnt matter. I am really happy they offered free dining for the dates I will be there:cheer2:
I hope everyone else gets what they are wishing for:)

Lets do the math.

Room Discount
$ 886.20 King room ($1477 * 60%)
$ 766.80 Tickets ($268.38+57.51+57.51 per person)
$1105.86 Deluxe Dining ($78.99 per person per night)
=========================================
$2758.86

Free Dining
$2246.22 King room + tickets + basic DDP dining (this is full price for room plus tickets)
$ 462.00 upgrade from basic DDP to DxDDP (78.99-45.99=$33 per person per night)
$ 99.95 photobook
=========================================
$2808.17

So basically it's costing you $49.31 to get the photo book. If you want the book then it's a good deal. If you don't then you're wasting money by changing.

Free dining will just about always save more money for a family of 4 at a moderate. You're a party of 2 and you got an almost unheard of room discount for a moderate resort. There are no absolutes when it comes to discounts beyond the absolute of you should always do the math to find out which discount is best for you.

This is great, thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I was trying to do this at work earlier and getting all kinds of confused. Thanks again :thumbsup2

That's NJ week. Half of NJ goes during that time. They blacked out last two years, doubt they will do it this year.

If you have young kids (no juniors) you'll save more with a room discount on a deluxe. On a mod, it would be a wash, and for value FD is better. If you have juniors the FD is better usually.

Is your conference on property? If so, conference rates for deluxe are usually better than anything, but you can't add dining plan. Tickets are cheaper too.

This year, Jersey Week starts Sat 11/5/11.:thumbsup2

Duh! Better check my calendar then if anything to plan what to do with the kids (I'm from central NJ). :confused:

oh yes! Airfare has been outrageous to return home at the end of that week. USAirways wanted $280 pp one way since day 1, Spirit at $279. Finally AirTran released $130 for a Sunday return so I jumped on it but by the next day it was $250. :sad2: There are connecting flights for less but I wouldn't wait! :goodvibes
