***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

I just read the latest news release to agents regarding MyMagic + and the testing phase. It has a chart that says all guests with arrivals from now until Jan 5 will be eligible for the test phase.

My question is, what happens for guests who arrive after Jan 5? Is the entire program live then or will it be shelved until a later date?

It just means they are enabling MBs and Fastpasses for the next group of reservations.

They aren't going to shelve it at this point.

I am just now able to customize my bands and it says I have until Dec 5th to do so. It did not ask for any information, will it automatically link the credit card linked to my account to our bands? How do I get my photo+ package linked to my band, it doesn't show that it is linked to any of my reservations, they just sent me a CD case with a CD in it and a number.

Your credit card will be linked to your room, as will your MagicBand. Your MB charges will go to your room, and on checkout day they will make a single transaction to your credit card. This is how they've always done it with the KTTW cards, so nothing has changed there.

They have said they will support "touch to pay" for non-resort guests, which will involve linking a credit card to your profile. How they will do it is unknown, but I believe it will be done just like it is with the room charges - they will gather several days worth and make a single charge.

Yes...exactly like before.

Yes you only need 1 FP. But your husband does not enter the line with you. He gets a rider swap pass and wits with the baby/child outside the ride while you go and then when you come back he takes his swap ticket and rides with that.

OK, since you are unfamiliar with it, first, a stock answer:

Just to avoid any confusion, there are TWO different things that some people refer to as "child swap", "baby swap", etc.

First, there is a formal system in place at most all Fastpass attractions that have a height requirement, called Rider Switch. Follow the link for complete details (and exceptions), but this is what most people will respond with for answers.

Second, at all other attractions, or at the Rider Switch attractions where a child simply chooses not to ride, there MAY be a way to accommodate the situation. However it is different at each attraction because of the different ways loading and unloading are handled which are often in different locations. Ask the greeting CM for what the possibilities are.

Now, as for using FP/FP+ in conjunction with Rider Switch - USUALLY this is no problem. Whoever is going to ride first will need a FP/FP+, and the one who stays behind will use the Rider Switch pass and can bring up to two others with them so they don't need to ride alone.

However, on rare occasions some CMs have asked for odd differences - I've seen them require the person staying to have a FP, which they will trade for the RS pass, or (even rarer) insist that the first group use the standby line only. But these are VERY rare.

Of course, with FP+ there isn't anything specifically to trade, and they'd have to be scanned for validity, so I think such odd occurrences will stop.

See above. Although this will likely happen in the future, I don't think FP+ will be available to off site guests in Jan. Just a hunch.

As an AP holder, do you have a prior MB and can you access FP+ now?

We are not staying offsite. We are staying at the Pop Century. Getting tickets for the rest of my party at the SoG. I do not have a prior MB. Still hoping someone can answer my original question. Thanks!

Is anyone having luck scheduling FP+s for Wishes or MK parades? I keep checking everyday and they have not show up for me. I am about 27 days out at this point. Thanks!

I apologize for not reading through the thread before asking this question! We are staying at the Pop in January. I have an AP and will be purchasing tickets at the Shades of Green for the ret of my party once we arrive (not the special military tickets, just discounted ones). Will we be able to schedule FP+ before our trip? If not, once we get down there and purchase the tickets from SoG, will I be able to link those tickets and schedule the FP+ at that time? Thank you in advance!

You cannot schedule FP+ in advance for anyone who doesn't have a ticket associated with them. If you are not getting the tickets for some until you arrive, then you won't be able to book FP+ for them. You can, however, do so for yourself, and depending on availability, at the resort (or possibly guest relations) they can "mirror" your selections to everyone else.

:thumbsup2 thanks a million!!!!

Same here - DD6 is 43 without shoes. With shoes she's probably close to 44 right now, but it could go either way. We're also going in early January. Not sure if to go ahead and schedule Space Mtn and EE or not.

I'm trying to figure out the same thing. My 4 year old gidget is only 39", so there are going to be quite a few we will have trouble with, especially since her older brothers will want to go on a lot of the others.
Thanks to those who answered.

Make your FP+ plans- especially for Christmas week. Our experience 2 weeks ago, is that it is no longer "opt in" for the Magic Bands and FP+. You will be issued them at check in at your resort even if you did not "opt in" to the test before your trip or wanted to "opt out", and you will be told you should use them (those that opted out received a lovely shade of grey at check in). Some people were even wrongly being told by CMs that their KTTW cards were just for back up in case of glitches or issues and would not work for regular FPs, so they needed to set up FP+ if they wanted any FPs at all. This was not accurate- as the KTTW cards are working for regular FP even if you use the band and not the cards to enter the park. Currently, you are still being given KTTW cards and they work even though you have FP+ reservations. No one knows when this might stop. It could even be by Christmas that KTTW cards are a thing of the past at resorts, although I doubt it because right now things are so glitchy that I don't think there is any way that MDE/magic bands/FP+ are ready to handle the Christmas crowd. This week the reports are that regular FPs have been running out within 30 minutes to an hour of park opening for the big ticket items-- Christmas week is the busiest week of the year- much busier than now- and more people will be on FP+ by then. It may be next to impossible to get any regular FPs that week. Might as well have some FP+ set up so that you at least are guaranteed something. I do not believe that the fact that you have Magic Bands with FP+ capability, but simply did not set up any FP+ will in any way allow to to utilize the regular FP system if they decide to cut off access to both FP+ and regular FP being utilized together by then.

Thanks for this response -- I was starting to have the same question for our upcoming trip (arriving on New Year's Eve thru Jan 5th). For New Year's Eve, assuming we can get into the MK -- it will be great to have a guarantee of 3 rides (which I already have -- even though we're not at the 60 day window -- by accident was able to book them ) but later in the week will the 3 FP+ limit be a not so great deal? On past trips we would have 6 or 7 different fast passes during a day.

Will the 3 FP+ be the limit or once you use your first one can you get another one if they are still available????

We check in on 12/22. I was able to do online check-in and the Fastpass choices opened up. my question is, does the whole group needs to do the same ride at the same time? My son can not do some rides so I was thinking have my husband do a headliner while the two of us do another ride/show. I do not want to waste DS FP
I have not tried anything yet on the site for FP reservations.
