OK I've been reading through the MB/FP+ threads and have not really found info on my scenario. Staying 12/26-1/3 Off property with tickets ordered from undercover tourist.

Couple of things.

1) I'm assuming that we will not have access to MB since we are OP.
2) Will we have access to FP+?
3) if yes to 2 I guess we would need to link the UC tix to MDE account? and then we could get FP+ @ 60 days out?

or are we SOL and we can only do regular FP at the park?

Currently, only on-site Disney resort guests have access to MagicBands and Fastpass+.

That could change, as it is expected that everyone will have access at some point, but no one knows when.

Your guess is as good as anyone's right now. Most feel that when this shakes out, off site will have access to FP+ and also MB for a fee. Doubt this will happen in December, however. I'm staying at the Swan in Feb ("off site") but have a All-star sports ressie just in case.

I have an AP and will be purchasing tickets at the Shades of Green for the ret of my party once we arrive (not the special military tickets, just discounted ones). Will we be able to schedule FP+ before our trip? If not, once we get down there and purchase the tickets from SoG, will I be able to link those tickets and schedule the FP+ at that time? See above. Although this will likely happen in the future, I don't think FP+ will be available to off site guests in Jan. Just a hunch.

As an AP holder, do you have a prior MB and can you access FP+ now?

We will be on DDP so we won't be paying at meals - I am assuming we would scan our bands for the credits to come off, and then we can write in the tip for it to be charged to the cards linked to our bands?? Only having to carry minimal cash would be ideal!!

Yes. It will function just like the KTTW cards did, but they will bring a portable payment terminal to your table to scan the band and enter the pin.

Thanks. I never used KTTW card for charging - always brought cash to leave the tips when we did DDP. Thought we'd give charging with the bands a whirl this time!

I have a question, maybe someone will help me. My friends have a DVC and invited me to come with them for their November Veteran's weekend trip. I said yes- they ordered me a MyMagic+ band. I now have to buy my park tickets. I was going back and forth deciding between getting an AP (I might be going back and forth a lot this year) or getting a park hopper with a non expiration option from Undercover Tourist. Will I be able to link either of these options with my Magic Band??? My friends with the DVC haven't reserved any fast passes yet and we're kind of worried nothing will be left. Two of them have AP's and one other is in my position.

You should be able to link either.

The question is I am not planning to use my full 10 days only 5 days. So we can come back another time.

Have anyone have experience with this yet with the magic bands?

I don't want to loose my days!

No reason to believe you would lose your days at all. The ticket becomes "linked" to the band, but the ticket entitlements still exist in Disney's computers.

On a later trip, you should still be able to use your MB and use your remaining days.

Yes, the magicbands are meant to be re-usable. Most of their functions will last indefinitely, but the battery for the active transmitter (used for some limited functions) is good for 2-3 years.

I just read the latest news release to agents regarding MyMagic + and the testing phase. It has a chart that says all guests with arrivals from now until Jan 5 will be eligible for the test phase.

My question is, what happens for guests who arrive after Jan 5? Is the entire program live then or will it be shelved until a later date?

No one knows, sorry. I think it unlikely it will be shelved, however.

I'd assume on site as travel agents that work with Disney are selling rooms and packages not just tickets.

Is it a specific seating area reserved for FP+ like Fantasmic! or they simply let you in before other guests?

I am just now able to customize my bands and it says I have until Dec 5th to do so. It did not ask for any information, will it automatically link the credit card linked to my account to our bands? How do I get my photo+ package linked to my band, it doesn't show that it is linked to any of my reservations, they just sent me a CD case with a CD in it and a number.
