***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

Great thanks. And the year won't start until you first use them?

If you have vouchers/exchange certificates, you still need to go to a ticket booth or guest relations to get the active AP, which you will still need for discounts, etc.

When you get the active AP, that's when the clock starts.

Curious - does anyone have any information on whether or not resort guests will continue to receive KTTW cards for Nov/Dec ressies. I arrive "home" (staying at POP this trip) Thanksgiving Day and staying through Dec 5. MBs are customized and FP+ have all been reserved. I'm excited to have all those details done, but really hoping I can double dip on FP_ too. I have heard that Dec 1 is soft opening. Does this mean no more FP_?

We arrive on 11/29, I was told by someone that is a CM that they expect that I and others staying around this time to still receive KTTW cards. I think this is even more the case because they don't have the whole MB and table service payment worked out yet.

Great news Telcomguy! Really didn't want to be limited to 3 FPs a day and looks as if I'll be able to double dip. I am beyond excited for this trip. First time seeing the world all decorated for Christmas!

Same here. I think this year I'm going to follow easywdw plans instead of touring plans. I scheduled my FP+ for the evening anyways, so we should be able to ride as much as we want.

I'll have to look through those sites some more. I know it's going to be crazy busy through sat crowd wise, but figure as long as I'm at rope drop I can get my stuff done. I usually have my own game plan as I don't like to be planned to the minute but there is lots of stuff I wanna get done! Did you see MK now is open til 1am through Sat? HS is open til 10 too. I was excited b/c now I can see Fantasmic since they have a later showing. Was gonna miss it this trip and see Osborne Lights instead but now I can do both. Was also probably going to miss the Electrical parade but gonna try to see one of the 11pm shows now. Well as long as my body can continue to go that long, but figure it's Disney....I'll sleep when I'm home. =)

I didn't see that until I saw you mention it. It will be our first day in the parks and my DW wanted to do MK this year on our first day, so I'm sure how late we'll stay. Her and the kids also wanted to do parades and fireworks in our last days in the respective parks, so we'll be doing MSEP and Wishes on 12/9. We already have our Fantasmic dining package, so we're all set with that. Too much to do and see this year.

I hear ya on the too much to do and see. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. But I am trying to remember I will be back again and Christmas stuff takes priority this trip. My job is usually nutso around Christmas time but I am required to take a week of layoff during 4th qtr so I decided to go to WDW and see all the decorations.

never done it (will next week), but I think 5:15 will give you plenty of time. I can't find any specific posts about how long the wait is but it's not open to the general public; just Disney Visa card holders. You can get 1 picture/day per card. My sis and I each have a card so 2 pictures. We will be there next week and will try to remember to post when I get back about the wait.

That would be great!!! thanks. Post here tho...as I will not know where to look :rotfl2:

I posted this in another FP+ thread but wanted to share here as well. Overall the system worked great for us but that may be because it's not completely rolled out and the paper FP system is still in place. If anyone has questions please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer.

We just got back from a week long trip (10/5 - 10/12) where we participated in the FP+ test. We did continue to use the paper FP as well.

Here are my thoughts on the system based on how we used them, what we saw in terms of FP lines, and what we overheard from CM while in those lines.

1) The FP+ system is good as long as it remains flexible. The main benefit for us was being able to line up our fast passes again if we made a decision the day before visiting a park that we were going to change our park of choice. No problem, just pop open the app and reschedule everything.

2) There were always a lot of people in the FP line. Maybe this is normal but seemed a little out of whack relative to what we remembered from our last trip.

3) In relation to #2, we overheard some CMs talking about the FP lines, noted the testing phase, etc. which led me to believe that they were also surprised by some of the crowd rushing that would occur at the FP line at times.

The real key to me in terms of whether this program is going to be successful or not is #1. Forcing people to park plan on a daily basis well in advance is not going to be well received if deviating from those plans is basically punished. I predict if this deviation is not allowed then it will be a monumental failure unless paper FPs are well. However, if the same level of flexibility remains that we were able to enjoy over the past week then I think this program will be a success. I'm just not sure that flexibility is mathematically feasible but some of you smarter folks have probably already figured that out.

Please forgive me if this question has been covered before but we made resort reservations yesterday for three adults and two children in one room. Two adults and two children were assigned magicbands. The other adult in the room was not assigned one. Is that normal? Will he ever be assigned one?

Is the other adult listed in your profile as family who can share all plans? Do they show up on your resort reservation? Everyone linked to your resort reservation should be able to get MagicBands at the same time.:confused3

You might have to call to get it fixed, since they should have been able to get MB's at the same time as the rest of you.

Yes, he is our adult son, listed as family and named in the resort reservation. I thought it was strange that one person in the room didn't get a magicband, but wanted to ask those more familiar with the program than me...:scratchin

Thanks. I see I can buy APs with the DVC discount online now. That's going to get me vouchers? Does that mean that until I activate the APs they cannot be linked to MDE?

Yes, you will get vouchers or at least a will-call number. You _should_ be able to link the voucher IDs or will-call number to your DMX profile. No guarantees though...but once linked, you _should_ be able to make FP+ selections once eligible.

FWIW... We linked 5 DVC exchange certs to MDX with no issue. When we arrived at WDW and activated the APs, the transition was SEAMLESS. This was 9/26-10/8, and all went smoothly.

This despite a self-identified DISer we came across in the parks who SWORE that this was not possible, per what he read on DIS. People are funny. :rotfl2: :lmao:

Are there any issues with using a child's MB to make a FP+ reservation for a thrill ride they are not interested in?

To be fair, it couldn't be done in August when one of my daughters bought a DVC AP. She had to wait until she got to the resort and redeemed the voucher before she could link her AP to her MB. Sometime between August and September that obstacle was removed.

That's why I prefaced my response with "should". :) Even now, I'm sure there are some who it works for, and some who it doesn't. What the differences are is a complete unknown.
