New MUG is OUT!!!!!

We go to Disney at least 3 times a week, and often visit the resorts for pin trading.

I see so many people using old mugs, and I mean OLD like from 2005 Year of a Million Dreams old! The CMs don't say anything either.

I am going to various resorts today, pin trading, looking for new hidden mickeys. I will check out the food courts at the resorts I visit and take some pics, and post which resorts had the new mugs, how much they were, etc.

What do you mean "old mugs"... You mean I can't use my "YOAMD" mugs like I've been doing for the last 6 years?

Just kidding...

We did bring our mugs back one year before we knew the rules. I also remember recently I had an arguement with my wife about the "mug rules" and had to reference the "unnoficial mug thread" to set her straight.

We went to the AKL and Coronado Springs last night, and they both still have the old mugs

Well judging by what they did with the blue lids, I imagine that even if they did a green lid, it would be a girly pastel.

Sooooo...I wonder if the price includes taking my man-card.

In case you couldn't tell...I don't really care for them.

I was starting to think I was the only one. To me, these seem more like a water park mug, not a WDW mug. There's nothing on them at all about the parks. My family does spend a lot of time at our resort's pool every trip, but to us trips are about the parks even if we do only spend a few hours per day in the parks. I was hoping for SOMETHING that's park related on them. Even if it IS just characters, something about the pool look just to me does NOT scream WDW.

Checked out of Port Orleans yesterday, Bought the old style when we checked in, but the new ones were put out yesterday. They are the same size and very cute! Several different colors and very cute. Alsomst bought one even though we were waiting for magical express!

I was thinking the same thing. There are probably more families of 4 or more that go to disney than there are of only 3. I will want pink. DS 7 will get his favorite color yellow I am sure but that only leaves blue for DS 11 and DH. I don't think DS 7 is going to want to switch his yellow lid for a blue one LOL. We'll see. My mom is also going so she will get the pink so hers and mine will be the same too. Maybe she will get a yellow one and switch lids with me. Decisions! Decisions!

We get new mugs when we go. Lately I have been taking the old lids that are black and blue (two teenage boys and a husband, no girlie colors!!!). They have fit in the past, so maybe they will again. Just sharpie the initial on the bottom of the mug and you're all set.

:agreed: I really do nto like them. Enough that I may not buy it this time. We can get 2 drinks with the CS meal breakfast, so I may just get the bottled drinks.

Unfortunately, the 2011 Dining plan CS breakfast meal only comes with one non-alcoholic drink and an entree. The days of 2 drinks with breakfast are a thing of the past. Sorry.

i think they're cute. but they are really summery. will they keep them all year? we aren't going until december.

i know they normally keep them a year (or two). but those seem so seasonal to me.

I was looking forward to a new mug design, but these are just too "girly", too generic, too "sissy" looking to me! Give us back the days of the Resort-specific mugs...or make the mug more specific to the theme. Put a little 'drama' or pizzazz into the design.

They look like Fl weather mugs to me - I just got back and the weather was gorgeous -it was great in December when I was there too...it's all about your perspective. I HIGHLY doubt they are going seasonal with the mugs.

Me too! Back when they had the resort specific mugs I got a mug at CBR that had that exact shade of light turquoise blue handle and lid that's on the new blue mug. I was there the second week of December and thought it had a light, tropical, beachy feel to it.

I wanted the blue so I tried reverse psychology on my 11yo DD.

I told her I wanted the pink and she and her brother could choose between blue & yellow.

She immediately said "Awwww Mama, I want pink!"

So of course I had to play it up with "Hmmm, well, I suppose I can take blue, I hear it's king of turquoisey so it might be ok."

Her response?

"Oh, ok, I'll take blue then!!!" (why don't we have a "Doh!" smiley?!)

I agree that these mugs are very "summery", however it is summery all year long in Florida.

Don't think they put all this into it only to have these mugs a few months. Nope these are this years mugs, it has the memories theme on it.

For those not keen on the new ones....I just got back from a trip to All Star Movies - they had all 3 colors of the new mugs, but had 2 red background older styles as well (I think lids were black, yellow, red)

New mugs are at BC Marketplace this morning.

I love them. So pretty. We leave here tomorrow so I will resist buying one until we check into AKV. Are they there yet??? I hope!
