Lisa, I know six people whose ultrasounds were wrong. They were all opposite cases, though. They were told they were having girls and they all ended up with boys. Lots of pink stuff was returned!

Hi Lisa!
My very good friend was told her baby was a boy. They started telling everyone ... then her cousin (who is always wrong!) was made to guess it and she guessed boy. So, she went back to the dr. and asked them to look again b/c Mercedes is NEVER EVER right ... sure enough, they had been wrong and he was a she!
Think of all the money you will save on clothes and toys...it'll certainly fund another disney trip to not have to start over!
My take on all the same sex is THANK GOODNESS! I feel like if we mixed it up now, and had a boy, it would be harmful to the girls relationship w/ DD if all of the sudden he was off doing hockey and other boy activities. Your boys would certainly miss you if all of the sudden you were gone to do other things like dance. This way you are still all together and you know what you are getting into ;)
I am sorry you feel bad, my sister went thru it too. But worse.
She wanted a girl sooooooooooooooo badly and had a boy. Then her second she was desperate for a girl. When my nephew was BORN they made a MISTAKE and told her IT'S A GIRL!! She was absolutely crushed when they told her the mistake...we allthink its funny now but have never told him! Male ego and all that stuff ;)

Morning! Lisa, I know exactly how you feel. I, too, have 3 sons (and said I was done after the 3rd ;) ) and it isn't so much being said that your baby is a boy, it was more mourning the loss of the 'girly' things you could do. You know, no tea parties, princesses, yellow gingham or black patent leather shoes. But you know what, there was never a guarantee a daughter would want those things anyway.

It is okay to feel sad. But trust that you aren't saddened by your little one BEING a boy, rather the loss of the 'girly' possibilities.

OTOH, with my second son, I was told at 20 weeks (never had another u/s)that he was a girl and lo and behold...a boy!

Now, I go in tomorrow for the induction. Although, hospital called yesterday and told me to call before coming in to make sure they had a bed for me. Evidently, they have been swamped. UGH!! I am physically and mentally DONE. I know I might be "bumped", not cancelled, but it is still disheartening. I need to have this baby, tomorrow!!!! Keep the good thoughts coming.

Exactly! Just mourning the idea of the "girly" possibilities. I feel 100% better today (although, I still need to see a real "I'm a BOY" picture;) )

Was there a full moon or something last night? Keep us updated on what's going on. I will be checking in from Disney! Wishing you the fastest and most painless delivery ever (until mine that is!;) :lmao: )!

I have a little boy and a little girl and for some reason, I am really feeling like this 3rd baby is a girl. I haven't decided if I am going to find out yet or not, but I know that there will be a part of me that will disappointed if I find out that it's a boy. It's not that I don't want another boy - in some ways I REALLY do want another boy because then my little girl will still be the little princess princess: I will be more disappointed that my "mother's intuition" was wrong! :rotfl:

Went to my OB today and she said the last 36 hours have been crazy at our local hospital. She joked that there shouldn't be a pregnant person left in the state.

Anyway, had the big check of the cervix and only 1cm. She looked at my DH and told him he had a job to do.:lovestruc Poor guy having to get around this huge belly.
Looks like 9/10 I will be induced, about 1 week early.

Lisa,
Have a great trip! I'll be thinking of you!:goodvibes

I too went to the doctor yesterday though I am a few weeks behind you two...I saw the midwife yesterday as my doc is on vacation and she said everyone of his patients she has seen that day were 36 wks so i am hoping we all don;t go at the same time or else that hospital might be busy and we live in a small town:scared1:

You are all getting so close! Good luck at home with your "doctoring" guys and bring on that labor!:goodvibes

I haven't let my doc do a cervical check yet. I think I'm still in denial that it's happening. :rotfl:

I know. I guess I don't see the point of a check in the first place. I could be dilated for weeks with no action. Plus, it's totally invasive. I'm holding out until I start contractions. :thumbsup2

I didn't know you had a choice. Yesterday was my first time ever since 1st child and i was told that was happening. Of course baby's head is still high and my cervix is still closed she said. I also was told that I had a lot of fluid so when my water breaks its going to be a gusher.:rotfl:

good morning guys!

I just got back from a baby appointment.. they did the blood test for the chromosomial defects (i think its called.. to see if the baby will have down syndrom) and it came back negative.. we're happy about that..

the Dr was using the machine to hear the baby's heartbeat and he kicked right where she was so the machine made a really loud thump noise.. it was too cute!

There's a choice. It really depends on your doc and your own views, too. My doc agrees that a check isn't really necessary, so she is supportive of my decision. However, I have a lot of friends who insist on being checked because it simply makes them feel better about any progress. It's all just personal choice. :thumbsup2

I didnt get checked at all w/ my first... i was afraid they would start the ball rolling and I was scared to death of having my first baby! She ended up over a week late!
The second, I was like ...mmm, can you check me and speed things up a little?

Mind if I join you gals?
I am newly pregnant w/ baby # 3! Due date (according to one of those online calculator's) is April 28th.
I have a 9yr.old daughter & 4 yr. old boy.
My first OB appt. is Sept. 9th, I am hoping they will do an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy is viable as I have had several miscarriages. For now I am cautiously optimistic!
