New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

OK, so since I haven't had an infant in a long time...I know nothing about what products are better than others. Where did you all find product information for items such as bottles, strollers, car seats, cribs, etc? Word of mouth, websites, etc?

Hi ladies!

Just found this thread, hope you don't mind my joining in! I'm Gail, and I'm 18 weeks pregnant with our second baby (due 1/23 - hubby's birthday!) DD1 is 4, and so excited about her "baby sister." Unfortunately, we don't know that that is the case yet - I'm afraid of what will happen if it's a boy! So, we've decided to find out the sex at the ultrasound this time around, figuring it will give us a little more time to get her used to the idea of a brother if need be! As soon as I can get the prenatal testing center to call me back I can schedule that, so we should know within the next couple of weeks.

H and I are less than a month away from a "just the two of us" trip to the World. We got a great deal at the Poly on a bounceback from last year, and we figure this will be our last chance to go by ourselves for a long, long time. Anyone who can offer tips on touring the world while PG, I would very much appreciate it - I think I'll be fine, but any BTDT advice is welcome!

I went when I was pregnant but it was during my 1st Trimester -- so for me the biggest thing was making sure I had food around and not gouging on big meals. I carried/bought snacks and water and we ate more little meals at CS and less TS meals.

I took a nap/rest every afternoon -- heck, I still do that when we go to WDW even though I'm not pregnant!

(My DD was born on my birthday! I didn't like that at first but now I do. Our 2nd child is due in March and DH is hoping it'll be his bday but no such luck -- it's too far away)

Well, I'm brand new to this whole mom thing The Baby Bargains books and website have been hugely helpful. Much of what they reccommend is also what my friends really liked too. I read it cover to cover, than kept it by my side when I registered. I also just checked it out of the library, didn't bother to buy it!

Have any of you ever made the decision to be surprised at the sex of your baby? I found out the sex in my last two pregnancies and now with this one, I want it to be a surprise, but DH wants to find out!

If we had one of each, I would LOVE to be surprised. With 2 boys, I'm am dying to see the ultrasound to see if we finally have a .

As far as weight gain/showing...I was at a cooking class last night and someone asked me when my baby was due...it is embarassing to say January 29th when it's only August!!!! So, I guess that tells you I am REALLY showing already!

My mom saw my belly today and her jaw dropped. She said "Whoa, when did you get so pregnant!"

Seems I am pregnant every time I go to Disney. DH and I are also going for a "just the two of us" trip soon. Unfortunately, it's a very, very short weekend, but I'll take it....I think. I've never left my kids like this before, so I'm a little terrified.

Any questions you have on doing the World pregnant....please ask.

AKL concierge just called to see if we needed anything else before our trip and told me I shouldn't do the Sunrise Safari. I know there are a lot of pregnant women who go on any rides they want, but I'm not one of them. No one knows what makes a cervix shrink, and if they think the bouncing around is too much for a pregnant woman, then I'm not going to chance it.

It's sad...especially after paying over $300 for the room to be able to book the safari (and being the cheapest person in the world! ). At least DH and DS#1 can still go. The baby and I will just sit in the lounge and eat our "free" food.

Before I cancel for sure, I am going to talk to my Doc about it. I'm already fighting to stay progesterone shot-free this pregnancy, so I won't fight her on this issue.

I hear that. Im to tired to do anything.. It is March 30th. I think all I have done for the past week is sleep. and eat.. but mostly sleep. Once, I even fell asleep while I was eating.

Yippie, another twin set!! Big congrats and welcome

I just have to brag for a second, my two best friends threw me a shower today. It was very small and low key (perfect for me) and it was such a nice afternoon. Of course I got oodles of clothes (one frind has a boy about a year and a half, so lots of hand me downs), but the cutest part was the favors. They did a little candy bar where people could make their own bags. It was all blue candies! They ordered the personalized m&ms that had two sayings:
1) Little Lions (has to do w/our last name)
2) Baby Brothers

OMG, it was so cute. Before today, I literally had nothing for the kids. Now at least they have somewhere to sleep (a loaner bassinet), stuff to wear (all the clothes) and a nice start to a library (everyone brought a book). It was so fun!
