New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

its true everyone will always have something to say about how big you are. you got that you are too small to be having twins...people ask me "are you sure there arent 2 in there?!" :furious:

people just need a reason to hear themselves talk......

My favorite is, "I don't think you really have 2 in there".

   Do you need to see the ultrasounds again? Hear the heartbeats? Feel them move? Or would you just like to see me pull 2 girls out of thin air in a week or two to prove it?! ;)

Oh well. You are absolutely right, they need to hear themselves. If someone was smaller than me in pregnancy (which happens a lot, I'm sure), then I hear "wow, that's a lot of baby". If they were bigger, I get the argument above.

It's comical, really

How cute you look! You are all belly! I think I was all butt!:rotfl2:

I refused most belly shots, but here are a few that either got snuck by me or that I finally allowed out of exhaustion arguing with my mother ;)

I think you look great! With DS#1, my stomach was so big that someone actually came up to me and asked if I was having triplets:scared1: ! Imagine having to explain there was only 1 baby and that I was only 14 weeks along!!!!:rotfl2:

No kidding. If it were me, I'd bite my tongue regardless of what I thought, so as not to kick myself in the butt! :rotfl: A lady I saw at the salon the other day asked how much longer I had, and when I said "a few weeks" (which is really just until my c/s.... imagine if I had said 2 months ) she said, "Is there just one in there?!"

What in the world would she have done if I said yes?! People kill me! :rolleyes1

That's funny that you say that about the butt. I actually dreaded blowing up like a balloon (the rest of my family absolutely carries ALL over!), but I looked at the last picture when I posted it the first time and said to my DH (almost sadly, I think!) -- "Oh my gosh..... I STILL have no butt!" :rotfl: I'm built like a 12 year old, but I thought for sure I might get a LITTLE curvier carrying two! My b**bs haven't even really grown much! :confused3

Next time someone asks any of us a stupid question about the baby, we should all reply with "What baby? I'm not pregnant!":lmao:

My husbands family looooves to tell me how large I am....sometimes I'm so tempted to respond with "you are toooooooo!" in the sweetest possible voice :)

Then there is the occasional opposite, usually with a younger person. I went through a drive through for a smoothie yesterday, and the girl working was probably about 16. I was obviously sitting, so there is no doubt in the world that I'm VERY pregnant, but she was so nervous to ask. Planet Smoothie sometimes adds some sort of herbal "booster" things to certain smoothies, and when I ordered mine she said, extremely timidly... "Um, are you pregnant?" And looked incredibly relieved when I said yes, and that I knew I wouldn't be getting the whatever-booster-was-supposed-to-be-in-my-smoothie. She was beyond nervous to ask! :rotfl:

My poor sister. She's always been an "A", while I've always been a "C/D/DD". Growing up, my mom and I promised her she would get b**bs when she got pregnant.....she's still mad at us!::yes::

Oh, I hear you! I'm one of the women in the school that says you better not DARE rub my stomach or I'll likely wail on you.... and yet there is this one lady at church that practically lays all over it when I'm there. I hadn't been in a while until my bedrest restrictions were listed, and went one day a couple weeks ago. She was all over me and said "You're so nice and round!" ..... DH said I should have laid my hands on her stomach and said "You are too!"

aww your belly shots look great guys! I heard the comment all the time about not being big enough to be carrying twins...I swear that my comment was going to be "Don't be a hater cause you gained like 80 pounds in your pregnacy and I look good" but decided that that was just rude :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I really never stuck out far in the front, but My sides got wider despite losing weight. I had a great booty while I was pregnant too I had a net gain of 10 lbs preregnacy weight when I delivered...I was down a lot from pre prego weight by the time the twins were just a few weeks old, of course I could kick myself because I have gained a few pounds back since then....but we are working on that!:( :worried:

So she didn't?! I keep thinking I might fill this C cup when I get milk in at least! I'm not as tiny as her; I am generally a small B.... and I HAVE outgrown certain brands of B bras, but even that's a stretch. Again with the genetics not being a good indicator... my mom went literally from an A to a DD when she had me, and never looked back!

A couple of months after I had Landon, my BIL actually told me that I had child-bearing hips! No kidding buddy! Then he tried to turn it into a compliment....not likely!:rotfl2: Nobody has ever let him live that one down!

Hi Meredith!

I love you for saying that! I get so much hell for having only gained 12 pounds (at 35 weeks.... I think I fluctuated between 9 and 11 also at 33-34 weeks, when you had delivered). I stand by my theory that twins just rev up your metabolism, but nobody believes me. They just shove food in my face.

She was a C, for about a week. Poor girl. I keep reminding her that hers will never sag like mine and that always makes her feel better. :thumbsup2

Hmmm.... I'll hold onto that for hope. Mine will probably just be small-ish and saggy! :rotfl:

I am so jealous of all of you that are gaining such a little amount of weight!!! I gained 30+ with my last two and I am only 5 feet tall!!! Starting this pregnancy I feel like I am already the size I was when i delivered my now almost 6 year old. I am SCARED to open the maternity bin and not fit my big toe into those clothes!!

Any ideas out there for 3 syllable girls names? I have a Jillian Elise and an Annabel Kate. So, I would like ( i think) to stick w/ three syllables again. And please, please, please let this child be a girl too!! I don't even know where to begin w/ a boy ....

No thoughts right off the top of my head, but I absolutely LOVE both of your girls' names. They are beautiful! Do they go by their full (first) names?

Now I was like 30 lbs overweight, so I could tell throughout the pregnacy that I was losing body fat and was really shocked to get on the scale the day I came home from the hospital. My friend that was actually Sam & Zoe's NICU nurse for a couple of days came to see me in the hospital the day before they were born and told me I would be in shock to see the weightI had lost but I really had no idea! Like i said though, being a SAHM, I have gained some back nibbling here and there.
