New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

Hey! Evan is doing great. He is a good eater and growing everyday. He's only waking one time at night right now, and most times he is back to sleep within 45 minutes.

How are you?

Glad to hear! You should post some pictures!

I'm doing good, thanks for asking! Having u/s every 3 weeks to check my cervical length and I've been going every two weeks to see the doc. Such a welcome break from last pregnancy! Hopefully my cervix stays put and the only shot in my future will be my Rhogam (which is in 2 weeks already :scared1: ).

We finally named our little man, so now it feels more real. We still haven't told all of our family yet though. DH is a stickler about telling family first.

Please tell me someone else is as dumb as I am. About 1.5 months ago, I did an inventory of all of the clothes we had (loads of hand-me-downs, plus of course new stuff). I thought we were all good on clothes for the first few months.

Except, stupid me didn't realize that "Newborn" and "0-3" are NOT the same size. I am dumb. So I had to go back through, and I found out we have almost no 0-3 clothes. Luckily, we have a great outlet mall not too far away, and DH took me yesterday to get some things in the 0-3 size. But seriously, are they really going to let me leave the hospital? I'm a moron! I only can hope and pray that at least one of the babies is small enough to fit into the newborn stuf for at least a little while, or that's all going to be a waste.

In other news, I get to go to the doctors twice this week! And starting next week--three times a week! Until I deliver. I think I should just move in :lmao: I started to have some contractions this weekend (beyond the BH ones), but they were pretty random, and while painful, were pretty tolerable, so no trip to LD for me yet. I have an NST tomorrow, so we'll see if I'm having some that I just can't feel.

That's all that's going on now :) Hope everyone else is hanging in there!

What really gets confusing, is different companies label differently. Example, one brand will say 3-6 months and another brand will say 6 months. Just check the pounds on the tags to help you.

No you are not a moron -- you actually cannot go by sizes anyway, as PP said. It's something you'll just learn once you really see your babies and see what type of clothes fit your kids.

For example, my DD is very long and has always been twice the regular sizes so although I had a lot of 0-3 and 3-6 months clothes, she hardly wore any of those. However, my friend's girl (born 2 weeks later) has always been behind by a full size. So my 3yo is wearing sizes 5 and 6's and her 3yo is wearing sizes 2 and 3's.

And then you'll find out that some brands like Carters shrink and are smaller and others like Gymboree are larger.

Makes it difficult to guess ahead to what sizes you need in the future, esp if you are a yard sale/consignment shopper like I am.

Just add this to the "things they never told you".

Fun times ahead!!;)

I understand you give your immunity to the baby, which lasts for several months.

I can't wait for all of these babies to come!!! Good luck to both of you...hope to hear some birth stories soon!:goodvibes

The boys and I are all pretty sick with whatever is going around. Add that to lack of sleep the last 2 weeks! I am just exhausted. So, I was laying on the couch watching Birth Day while the kids were playing (BTW, how do they have so much energy while they are sick?).

Next thing I know Dylan, my 2 year old, comes over to me and tells me to lay down. Then he tells me to open my legs because he "has to get the baby out". After I laughed for about 5 minutes, he comes back over to me and asks to see my belly. I lift up my shirt and he sticks one of his toys in my belly button. He tells me it will make my belly feel better. He then precedes to tell me "Push! Push! Push!".

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I didn't realize how closely he was watching! He thinks he's my "baby doctor"...maybe he'll be an OB/GYN in the future!:goodvibes

That is hysterical!!! :) My boys are just getting over being sick... hate when infants get sick. My oldest son (20 months) wont let me stick the asperator (sp?) up his nose... I cant stand when he sneezes cause I have go running after him w/ tissues! :lmao: GROSS!

Wishing you all a speedy recovery! :cheer2:

OMG, that is such a cute story. Little ones always pick up on the funniest things :rotfl:

I got confirmation that we will deliver the week of Novemeber 10th, specific date tbd. However, this week has been full of doc appointments where my BP has been trending high, so of course they're super nervous about PIH or pre-eclampsia, so it could always be sooner too :confused3 I had to do a totally annoying 24 test involving a large orange jug and a plastic "hat." You all don't need more details than that (although, I'm happy to share, it's a little tmi). Hopefully the results are ok when they come back today.

How exciting to have a time frame!!! Hopefully you make it there!:goodvibes

Am I the only one who doesn't know what your test is about?:confused3

First -- cute little "doctor" story!

And I, too, don't know what she is talking about either? :confused3

Sorry about the vaugeness, I didn't want to gross anyone out. Basically, if they think you're on your way to developing pre-eclampsia or HELLP, one of the symptoms is protein in your urine. And so they make you collect it (and keep it in the fridge ewwwww) for 24 hours. It's NOT awesome, let me tell you!

And in further news, all of my labs and tests are showing a trend toward pre-e, so they decided that they're going to deliver the boys.....TOMORROW! They're worried about me getting worse quickly, so they are being proactive and since the boys are a great size, and we're pretty far along for twins, they're coming out! I'm suprisingly calm about the whole thing.

I promise pics and details as soon as possible.
