I am considered very high risk. My cervix shrinks too fast. From the beginning of my pregnancy, I was at the doctor every week. One week at reg. dr, the next week at high-risk dr....being monitored for contraction, measuring my cervical length and then an in-depth u/s. Plus, I had to get shots every week in my butt.![]()
I saw so many pictures of my boys before they were born, that I was tired of u/s. We are refusing treatment from the high-risk dr. this time around, so it will strange to see (or not see) how I do without so many u/s's.
I never really thought about the effects while I was having so many. My boys are both healthy, so I don't know how much of an effect it can have. I do believe in overkill. Nothing is ever a surprise when you get u/s's every other week.
Got it! "Incompetent Cervix" issues (I hate that!) scared me more than anything this entire pregnancy... I pray that this one goes as smoothly for you as your previous ones, since you know what to expect from your body!
As for nothing being a surprise..... I'm wired to appreciate that!

I have done more research than you can imagine.
I am only 4 weeks along, so I havent had my first appointment, and I have a million questions. I thought maybe you guys could help me with a couple of them that cant wait for the appointment. First, this is our first, and Im 36 years old, which automatically makes it a high risk I guess.
I dont want to be overly cautious or concerned, but I do want to be informed and healthy. So my questions are:
