New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

No water birth here, but I just wanted to give a quick update.

Went to the Dr's today and got the results of the 1st trimester screen. Chances of Downs or chromosonal defects went from 1 in 300 to 1 in 10,000, so that was a huge relief!:woohoo:

Set up the ultrasound for the 25th and I can't wait to find out what this baby is. My due date is still 9/17, and the heartbeat has been in the 160s.

Hope everyone is doing well!

I'm afraid it was over 2 weeks before he was really over each cold. He started coughing less after about 8-10 days, but was still congested for another week or so. The first cold was shorter than the second one, but all total the poor little bug has been sick for 5 weeks already, and he's only 13.5 weeks old! :guilty:

I'll cross my fingers Mo isn't sick as long. Thanks. :flower3: He does sound much better today though. I do believe the humidifier and drops are working. :thumbsup2 The steam from the shower wasn't bad either...although I only get about 5-7 minutes of hot water in my shower. :sad2: Guess that's better than nothing....we'll try it again tomorrow. :goodvibes

I went to the midwife yesterday and she made an appointment for the doctor to see me on monday if I´m not getting better by then. I swear I have never been this sick with the flu in my life.

Baby was fine. Heartbeat was great, still lots of movement and my blood pressure was good (always low). However I had lost 6 pounds since my last check up 2 weeks ago. Not exactly great considering that I hadn´t put on any weight at all at that time. So, now I´m 34 weeks along and 6 pounds lighter than I was before I got pregnant. Good thing I had extra pounds to start with.

I'm almost 24 weeks preggers! i can't believe I got this far. EVerything is going really well. My next OB appt is in 2 weeks from Saturday. IN 3 weeks I'm having a 3D 4D ultrasound, can't wait for that. THen it's all nerves nerves nerves, cause I'm already thinking about giving birth and it's terrifying me!

My little man is sick! I didn't realize how sick my babysitters were and now my Mo is! :guilty: He's not too bad though. His temp was 97.8 this morning and he's still eating well. He's just really congested and coughing. He's too young for over the counter medicine so his nurse told me to purchase a cool mist humidifier and saline drops. I'm going to tell you...it's a YOU KNOW WHAT to get those drops in his nose. Maybe I should try and do that while he's asleep. I have to suction his nose too, but that's just a tad easier. So today he WON'T be going to the sitter. Hubby is gonna try and come home early so I can make it to work. Hope Mo gets better soon. I have him in the living room napping with the humidifier. I'll be sure and move it to my bedroom tonight too. I'm to have it in whatever room he is in at all times til he gets better. :cutie:

Bo has also been sick with a cold and I agree with you about the saline drops. The poor kid starts coughing and I'm worried that I'm choking him :guilty:. We also got the cool mist humidifier and I've been running the shower like Bethany suggested. He's still sniffely after two weeks but I think he's starting to feel better.

I hope Mo is feeling better.

WOW! Must be something going around with all our little ones sick. :guilty:

MO & BO....I LOVE IT! Could you see it if they were able to hang out?? :lmao: :rotfl2:

He is getting better. Not near as congested and he takes to having his nose suctioned a little better. It's a little runny now, but the coughing and sneezing has subsided a bit. I have to do the shower thing today. I think it really does help.

Do hope BO heals quickly! :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about the sick little ones. Hope they all get better quickly!!

Well AF has made her return :headache: No wonder I have been more tired than normal.

Any advice on getting Chase to sleep better at night. He sleeps like a dream during the day, a good 3 to 4 hours at a time. Then the sun goes down and I swear he turns into a totally different baby. He is up every hour or two and wants to eat but he only eats a couple of ounces. :confused3

Rebecca~~~Try to only let Chase sleep about an hour or hour and a half during the day whenever he falls asleep. Could be one reason why he's up so much at night. Hubby and I have learned with Mo to not let him nap past 7pm or it will be rough on me when we finally do get him down. He didn't go down til 10:30 last night, but didn't wake up for a feeding til about 3am and then again around 7am, so it wasn't so bad. Hope this works for you...let me know! :thumbsup2

Strangely enough, I am now at weekly appointments! I also had my first of weekly cervical checks today, and everything is closed and thick! ;) I'm measuring 34 weeks, now also getting treated for displaced ribs and more pubic symphasis problems. It's a good thing I have a positive outcome (x2!) to look forward to, because these girls are giving my small frame a serious run for its money! Blood pressure is still great/low, I gained 2 more pounds (11.5 to date)... 8ish more weeks! (How is it that sometimes that seems so do-able, and sometimes it seems like a death wish?! )

had my 34 week check up yesterday and the doctor told me i need to rest and try to relax :rotfl2: (that's funny with 2 little ones running around) after being in the hospital twice in the last 5 weeks for contractions. they had to stop them both times by giving me terbudilin(sp?)

when i went to the hospital on friday they said i was 50 percent efface and 1-2 cm.

my doctor told me to try to hold him in for just a couple more weeks so we'll see what happens with that.

lilianddomsmom, how exciting! I hope he stays in there as long as he needs, but you are getting there! :goodvibes

I will officially be in the 3rd trimester in just a couple more hours! I am so looking forward to making that milestone! I had a scare on Sunday. I didn't feel my baby move all day which is definitely unusual since he generally moves all day long. I was really worried something had happened. Thankfully he is fine and has been moving around like crazy again since. I never experienced anything like that with my dd so it was not a fun day for me.

Dh had surgery today as well so I am taking off a few days from classes to help take care of him. He's doing pretty well though. He had another hernia (2nd one since 2006).

I'm glad all seems to be well for everyone and I hope that those of you with sick little ones are feeling better. My dd has been sick too. She was coughing so hard on Monday night that she ended up throwing up in the middle of the night. :( She seems a bit better now but not completely over it yet.

Thought I would post a couple of photos of my little man...

It is hard to believe he is almost 6 weeks old already. Don't know what I would do without him :lovestruc

Hello everyone . . . it has been crazy around here. New job, food poisoning, and Abigail just turned 5 months today. I can't believe it! Anyway, here is a recent photo of her that I just had to share.

Things are not too good right now...
I was having constant stomach hardness to went to L&D and apparently I have something called "irratable uterus", it's where I constantly have these little mini contractions one after the other. I'm on bedrest and meds :( Ughhh I'm scared to death.

Get lots of rest and stay positive. I will be sending positive energy your way!

We had our u/s on Tues and it looks like we will be having a little GIRL join our house of 3 boys! I am quite shocked and still don't know if I believe it.
