New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

I am very sorry to hear of your loss Kiki! :( My heart aches for you but I hope that you will be able to rejoin this thread with happy news in the near future.

Rebecca~ Chase is absolutely adorable!

That's my plan :) I hope to rejoin. I need to unsubscribe now as it's hard for me to see pictures and hear stories. I also don't want to bring negativity to a thread that should be full of wonderful news and excitement. I also don't want to scare any of the newly pregnant mommies.
We don't know if our baby is a boy or a girl and we will probably never know but we named it Zirka (ukrainian for star) for the new star in heaven and Joy for all the joy that was brought into our lives and our family. This has affected a lot of people in our family and they are all having a hard time with it.
I wish you all safe and quick deliveries. I will hopefully be back this summer and then I can share in all your wonderful news.

kiki -I'm sorry for your loss. I wish the best for you and your family.:grouphug:

Thanks everybody who gave me hope and prayers. Unfortunately for us things did not go our way and we have lost our baby. They figure the baby died at about 8 weeks (I was 13 weeks). I see a gynecologist tomorrow morning to see if they will do a d&c or let things happen on their own.
I feel like my whole world is upside down and I am trying to be positive. That me and DH will try again as soon as we get the green light.
To all you soon-to-be mommies out there...give your babies extra kisses from me.

:grouphug: I'm so sorry :sad1:

I met with the midwife today. I am 3cm dilated and 75% effaced. He has dropped a little too. I am scheduled to go to the hospital Thursday morning to begin riping medicine. It's a pill and I will take some and they will monitor me. She said that I probably won't have him that day (but there's a chance); it is basically to get things started. Then, Friday I go back in and they will give me medicine until I have him. :) She did strip my membranes today, so I could still go into labor on my own.

Yay! When are you due? Stripping the membranes (4 weeks ago today) was all it took for me. Good luck to you!

Tomorrow my baby is going to be 4 weeks old. Wow the time has flown by. I'm taking her to get her picture taken today. Unfortunately, she scratched her face with those little razor fingernails yesterday...

Goudaman: thanks for the code. My diapers should be delivered today :D

I´m so sorry for your loss, Kiki. I feel your pain (I had a miscarriage at around 12 weeks in 2004). Try to stay positive and keep believing a baby will join your family soon!

Thanks.

I am due tomorrow. I've had some cramping, but not much else.

What does "stripping the membranes mean?"

I told you I was new at this... That sounds scary. :scared1:

Here's an explanation I found online:

"Stripping the membranes is where a health care provider will separate your bag of water from the cervix, it is not intended to break your water, however, it may".

"Stripping the membranes
Your practitioner may offer to "strip your membranes" to help start your labor. This procedure usually feels like a ******l examination, although it sometimes can be painful or cause cramping. The practitioner places her gloved finger through the cervix and sweeps the amniotic membranes free of their attachment to the lower part of the uterine cavity. This process is believed to release hormone-like substances called prostaglandins, which help to ready your body for labor".

Hi ladies! Went for the nuchal screening today. So far so good, but won't get the final results for about a week.

I have to admit, this being my 3rd and last pregnancy, I am totally on edge about the health of the baby. I guess it's because I know this is the last and we already have 2 beautiful healthy children, so I feel like I am tempting fate..... I know it's in my head but I'm just going insane about it.

We finally went to check out the labour & delivery ward at the hospital I´m thinking of giving birth in. It´s isn´t the same one I had the others at (2 of them born here in Iceland and 2 in Denmark).

We liked this new place a lot. It focuses a lot on natural childbirth and waterbirths (which I love) and doesn´t restrict women having a VBAC too much.

Now, I can´t wait for May :)

I think it's soooo cool that these boards are all over the world!

Of course, I get excited over chocolate milk too.... :)

I just wanted to let everyone know that Spencer Charles has arrived!!!

Thursday morning I went in to begin the induction. I went home that night and went back in Friday morning. I began more of the same medicine I had Thursday. Most of the day was uneventful with some minor contractions. That evening I started to have stronger contractions and the doctor broke my water. A little after that, my contractions got much stronger and I finally asked for pain medicine. The shot didn't take away any pain, but put me in a daze. A little after that, I asked for an epidural but it was too late. From there, my labor went pretty fast and I delivered Spencer at 11:06pm. I did have some tearing- not fun. :guilty:

He weighed 7lbs 15oz and is 21.5 in long. He is beautiful (if I do say so myself). :)
