New MK Paid Disney After Hours Event Announced

Well, and about 20% of the crowds. I'd rather pay $150 and be there with 5,000 people for 7 hours than $110 and 25,000 people for 13 hrs.

But you don't know it will only be 5,000. Depends on how many people are crazy enough to pay the prices. And there will be plenty of people willing to do it. Disney will sell as many tickets as there are people willing to pay the price.

Nobody has any idea what the size they're limiting ticket sales to IS.

Most of us have tickets already for the park (if you're already going) so you've already paid for the day's admission. This party is ON TOP of what package holder and AP holders have paid Only folks showing up with no other ticket media are paying $150 PLUS TAX for 7 hours in the park with free Mickey bars and soda.

I'm not sure how it being in april or may makes it worth *double* the party cost, even if it is more limited in attendance.

I wouldn't be surprised if the reason they haven't released MNSSHP info yet is due to this. If these sell out, I would expect to see party prices increase dramatically.

Because until now, there was nothing. It's not "another party," it's something different, and since there was nothing in April or May, comparing it to september to december doesn't really mean anything. Due to the complaints last year about crowding at the parties I would not be surprised to see the ticket count go down and the price go up, both of which have the intended effect of reducing attendance.

I mean, if you don't have a park hopper, you could spend the day at EPCOT and then do a full 7 hours at this party though.

So a ticket for a regular day is, what now, $110 and that's for 13 hours? 9:00 am to 10 pm? And EVERYTHING is open. Or I can pay $150 for 7 hours. And only SOME things are open. Oh, but I get a Mickey bar and a bottle of soda?
Yeah, I really don't get this, even with less people. It would be so expensive for families.

I am just comparing it to someone going for 1 day. I would NEVER pay this kind of money (plus it is too late for us), but in general, I would rather pay more money and have less people (within reason).

If they start phasing out EMH and doing this instead, I will never stay on-site again. It is the biggest perk for staying on property for me, the same way Express is at Universal.

I'm almost hoping they phase out EMH and start doing this instead - it would save me thousands of $ as EMH are the main reason I currently stay onsite. If EMH are gone, I'm gone as well. I'll stay at a 2 bedroom condo offsite for the same price I'd pay at a value resort. The 60 day FP+ window doesn't do anything for me. I used to use Magical Express, but now that we're a bigger family, we drive to WDW to save money. EMH is literally the only thing holding me onsite.

That's our arrival day, we're just not going to burn a ticket (bought 4 day hoppers planning to bridge them to APs) so we get the time, the lower crowds, and don't have to burn an entry day to do it. I can see the advantages.

I think if this was $84 or whatever the party was last year, a lot of the people on here saying it's ridiculous would have already bought tickets. It's just the fact it's more expensive that's making everyone whine - but nobody's got a gun to your head forcing you to go to disney world, buy extra time, stay onsite, or do any of the other patently ridiculous things we do just to go to disney world at insane personal cost. If you don't want to go, don't go. Use your park ticket, get your 13 hours, be happy.

I don't even use EMH and only stay onsite because my husband likes it - so for me, I couldn't care less if they get rid of it. If anything, it just makes whatever park more crowded on that day anyway. Won't be sad to see it go.

Absolutely. How could they NOT raise the other party prices after this? I was thinking about trying MNSSHP for our 1st trip this fall, but if prices go above $100 per person, FORGET IT. No wonder there has been so little info released his far!!! I also think this is only the beginning. With what I've seen Disney pull just since I started trip planning, it is obvious where they are going. Even if these things start as "limited capacity", it will surely increase as long as people are paying...and then why not increase the number of dates, get rid of PM EMH, etc.? Who cares how it affects the "base guests" already in the park? I guess it makes sense as a business!

I just hope we can squeeze in our trip before a lot of this takes affect. Seems like WDW will be a completely different park in 5 years.

People were saying that's what they WANTED, not what it was going to include.

$150 for 7 hours is not that bad. Not everyone wants special shows.

Most of the people this will appeal to will already have an AP or a multi day ticket. So while the extra hours are nice, they still don't bring much to the table.

There's a reason they didn't put a number on it. Just like they don't put a number on the Halloween and Christmas parties.

Comparing the offerings of one of their events to their offering of another event and what is included with each of those events absolutely means something.

Yes ticket count will be limited. So are party tickets. Limited means very little to mE as disney has proven over time they have no problem raising the "limit" if they have the demand.

So what rides will be open? All of them? Doubt it.

And I wonder how many tickets will be sold. That will be the determinant as to what kind of reviews this gets. I'm thinking half of the party max at best. But if there aren't any special shows or parades like at the parties to distract people, how will the ride lines be?

It will be interesting to hear the reviews from this one. I'll never go because there is no way I am shelling out $600 bucks for my family LOL

At the rate they're rolling this stuff out, it seems like it could be a completely different park in 5 WEEKS!
