new miley cyrus video

I think Hannah Montana is now officially dead and buried

I actually really like this song! Go Miley with your bad self

I liked it, liked Party in the USA as well. Not music for a little kid, but she's not a little kid anymore and honestly Hannah Montana was a charecter and she isn't playing that charecter. Has she finished HM I don't watch so I don't know if she's done her last season or if there is one left to show? I guess it may be hard for HM fans to realize that HM is not Miley Cyris.

I don't think playing a disney charecter should keep you a little girl till you're 40, so go Miley.

I saw it on the E channel last night plus the interview with Ryan Seacrest with Miley about the video. (I was waiting for Chelsea Lately, in my defense of watching E :lmao:).

If you click here and then click on E! News, hopefully the interview will pop up.

Nice break out video, it was not a bad song really. To her credit, it is long. Here are the lyrics....

For those who don't know me, I can get a bit crazy
Have to get my way, 24 hours a day
'Cause I'm hot like that
Every guy everywhere just gives me mad attention
Like I'm under inspection, I always get the 10s
'Cause I'm built like that

I go through guys like money flyin' out their hands
They try to change me but they realize they can't
And every tomorrow is a day I never planned
If you're gonna be my man, understand

[Chorus]
I can't be tamed, I can't be saved
I can't be blamed, I can't, can't
I can't be tamed, I can't be changed
I can't be saved, I can't be (can't be)
I can't be tamed

If I see my reflectiona bout my intentions
I'll tell ya I'm not here to sell ya
Or tell ya to get to hell
I'm like a puzzle but all of my pieces are jagged
If you can understand this, we can make some magic
I'm on like that

I wanna fly I wanna drive I wanna go
I wanna be a part of something I don't know
And if you try to hold me back I might explode
Baby by now you should know

[Chorus]
I can't be tamed, I can't be saved
I can't be blamed, I can't, can't
I can't be tamed, I can't be changed
I can't be saved, I can't be (can't be)
I can't be tamed

I'm not a trick you play, I ride a different way
I'm not a mistake, I'm not a fake, It's set in my DNA
Don't change me (x4)
(I can't be tamed)

I wanna fly I wanna drive I wanna go
I wanna be a part of something I don’t know
And if you try to hold me back I might explode
Baby by now you should know

and then the chorus again

Kinda reminds me of when Brittney Spears went from teen pop idol to an adult. The techno, lots of good looking men etc.

Life is about growing up and it looks like Miley is showing us she is all grown up!

Agreed. Only difference is that I think Miley won't become a Britney. I also like how Miley is allowing herself to growup, as opposed to Taylor Swift's saccarine teeny-pop drivel. (Incedentally, does anyone remember when Britney was the good one and Christina Aguilera was the bad one? I don't know about you, but ten years later I'd rather have Christina than a Britney).

I really liked the video and what she was trying to do.. I'd so watch it and listen to this song. I did like what she said at the end of the interview about her mom and sister, she said her sister told her to just shake her head yes to everything her mom said and tell her she is right so she won't get grounded.. LOL I just thought that was so funny.

The first time I saw it I thought it was not good but after watching her interview and seeing it again I actually kinda like it. I think it will just take some time to get used to the "new" Miley. I am glad that she is trying to break out of the disney shell.

Agreed, it reminded me of Brit doing "I'm a Slave 4 u". At least I think that was her first non Disneyified video. I mean the songs and videos aren't alike, just the message of "I'm all grown up now".
Hope she doesn't go the Britney road as far as the mental issues. I was so sad for her.

DH and I totally agree and had this conversation this morning. I sent him the link at work. I said it reminded me of when Britney tried to evolve her music and image. The video also reminded me of a James Patterson novel (genetic testing, a human girl with wings..can't remember the title).

We both pretty much said that the people who are going to complain about the video probably see Miley as the 12/13 yo she was when HM started (and continues to be in reruns) and not the 18 yo she is going to be in a few months. She is going to grow not only physically, but musically as well. Miley writes some of her own songs, as her life experiences change, so is what she is going to write about, so the music will have to change.

I think for awhile now people have been blowing what she does out of hand. I'm sure this won't be any exception.:sad2:

Personally, I liked the song, thought it was kinda catchy. But hey, that's JMO...:rolleyes1

Reminds me more of Christina Agulera. Miley eventually had to go from child performer to young adult performer. So many child starts faded away because they couldn't make that transformation. I don't ever see Miley being Brittany. Christina had married, had a child and maintained her career -- after starting off on the Disney Channel.

I don't like it at all...she's only 17, but again, in Hollywood, 17 is actually 30. She needs something to do with her time...might as well be bad. We get it...you can't be tamed, so you are going to spread your wings and fly far away from Disney and Hannah Montana. It's a tacky video, like most of them are - it's just a venue for the exhibitionist to show off her body. We get it, Miley, you have breasts and hips! It always amazes me when artists bite the hands that feed them: Britney, Miley, American Idol winners, etc. Maybe they should give back all of the millions they made during those times. I could understand if she were 21 and still being typecast as HM, but she's only 17, and is still taping Season 4 of the show, for goodness sakes.

Sorry, Miley, but you can't really sing, nor can you act, but neither can Britney. Come to think of it, neither can her father, Billy Ray. I'm not sure he knows how to parent much either...I guess that's a common pattern in Hollywood.

i like the song(i've liked a few of her other ones before as well) but the video was a mess.

she's a bird??? uhh...ok. it looks like something Adam Lambert would have tried....that's probably why i wasn't a fan of the video :rotfl2:

i like the song too! very catchy! i can SORT of understand why people would think the video was "too much" she IS only 17 and her shorts were awfully short and she was wearing some pretty high boots, and dancing suggestively with other girls in the video, but i didn't think it was "OMG SCANDALOUS"....but then again i also didn't think it was that great either lol

Agreed.

The bird and cage thing is that people watch her like a bird and freak out over every little move she makes.

I really liked the video - especially the look and theme. The song is OK. I don't find it scandalous or anything.(I never really cared for anything by Britney, but I like this)

It is definitely time to say bye bye HM!!!! I think it is time to move on if she wants to stay relevant or move on with her career.

I don't understand why she is still putting out music? I thought she was leaving the record industry behind to pursue just acting?

Speaking of books - isn't Miley supposed to be doing the movie of "Wings" by Aprilynne Pike? I remember hearing that because I heard it while I was just starting the book - and I hate that! I would rather form my own "picture" of the characters!

I liked the video and the song. I think she is very talented.

Also, she'll be 18 soon, ready to leave the protective nest, and Daddy will have little control continuing to tame her. ;)

With that being said, I love Miley and think she's beautiful, has a lovely voice. :goodvibes.

If this is her coming out video and new style, I'm really going to miss her innocent ways and sweet charm.

.

She's growing up way to fast for me. I actually kind of liked the song but I guess I liked the old Miley too! I'll miss her.

She's 17.
