How long does it take to get any type of membership card? We closed in January, made reservations for March and want to buy AP's with the DVC discount. How do I go about this? Will the reservation confimation letter work?

Did you buy via Disney or through a resale? Resales take a little longer to get everything set up...either way, you should have a DVC guide (sales person) assigned to you. I would contact them and request them to send you temporary cards for your trip. I requested new permanent cards (my old ones wore out) and it took a month to get them.

We bought our first contract through Disney and we received all materials including temporary cards quickly, but we didn't get our permanent cards for a long time. I sent an email through the member web site and they sent us cards within a couple weeks.

We bought a resale contract and closed in December. By mid January we had the paperwork including new sets of member cards (for both contracts?? same number for old but new card, go figure?)

Anyway, my point is perhaps an email through the member web site might speed things up for you?

I think you need an official card (temporary or permanent), the reservation confirmation will not work.

I would definately go with the suggestion of e-mailing or calling your guide. I bought into DVC the first week of Dec. my temporary cards came pretty quickly, but I was getting nervous that there was a problem because I hadn't received the permanant one. I spoke w/my guide in mid-January and she said it was on the way. I finally received it last week, so it did take almost 2 months all together. But now that I have it, I feel official!
