Someone was telling me that there is a "New meal voucher" thing going on, where you pay like $35.00 and you get all of these meal vouchers that you can use during your stay. They thought that you might have to be staying at a Disney Resort to get this, not sure. And they thought you could even use the meal voucher to do the "Hoop-Dee-Doo" dinner show. Is this true and if so can you tell me more about it?

Do a search "MYW dining plan", it will bring up lots of information.

And you don't really get vouchers, but a certain # of credits on your hotel key card depening on how many nights you get the dining option for. You get one counter service meal, one sit down meal and one snack. For adults its $35. Some restaurants count as 2 sit down meals and will use 2 credits. As the poster above mentioned, do a search and you will find LOTS of info. Its called the Magic Your Way (MYW) package with dining option.

Can we still get the Magic Your Way(MYW) package, if my friend belongs to the DVC? Or do you have to book your room at the same time with the MYW package? She already booked our stay at the Beach Club Villas, for this September.

Thanks!

MYW Dining doesn't apply to DVC...there is a DDE card that DVC members can get for restaurant discounts...

Wrong...DVC members are not eligible for DDE unless they are also Annual Passholders.

So basically, there are no dining plans available to you as guests of a DVC member.

I am a DVC member and also an AP holder, i am wondering if:

On our November 2005 stay, which is 7 nights, including the arrival day.....the first and last night are at POFQ, the middle 5 are at OKW on points........can we get the MYW dining for the first and last and DDE for the rest?

Does it some like a good idea at all?

Do the "credits need to be used on the actual day we are sleeping at POFQ or can we sue them whenever during our stay?

The MYW option seems a lot better than the DDE, but maybe i am just not that informed.......

thanks in advance for your help!

This is going to sound confusing and it's probably not what you're hoping: You can add the MYW dining to the first & last nights at POFQ but since it's a package add-on, you'd still have to buy at least one day MYW tickets both times for each person in your room. So if you have 4 in your room the first night, you'd have to buy at least 4 one day MYW tickets. Then for your stay on the last night, you'd have to buy at least 4 one day MYW tickets for that package as well.

As for using the dining plan, you would get the 1st night's credits upon checking in at POFQ and could use them until midnight the following day when you check out of POFQ . They would not be good after that.

After you checked out of the DVC resort, you would check back in at POFQ on the last night where you would again get credits for that night's package. They would also be good until midnight the day you check out of POFQ.

The dining plan as it exists now does not make it easy on those who want to resort hop or who have split stays with DVC. I'm sure it will depend on how much business the restaurants generate for Disney with this and how people use it. In your situation the DDE for the whole time sounds like a better deal.

Hope this makes sense. :wizard:

If you get the DDE, I would skip the MYW dining altogether. It probably isn't a very good deal if you factor in the 20% off you'll get with the DDE.

Thanks for your help....sounds like the DDE is the way to go for us!

again, i always appreciate allthe great advice on these boards!

What is the DDE Card?

Also, if the DVC member booked the cash nights with Member Services, and not CRO, they could not turn that into a package plan with dining as it is a discounted program.

So basically, you must book your trip as a package, tickets and meals and room for all occupants, and not book a room only nor DVC discount.

I myself am hoping they come up with a meal plan for DVC members in the future, but in the meantime I have my DDE card right in my wallet now, lol.
