New MagicBands for every trip?

I apologize in advance if this is already answered in another thread....if so, please point me in that direction


We have our Magic Bands from our last trip that we would like to use for our next trip as well. How do I convey this information to Disney? Are they going to ship new bands anyway and then I just bring the ones I want to use? Or is there somewhere on MDE to tell them not to ship new ones?

Yes they will ship you new ones if you are staying on-site again.

You will be able to use either set of MBs interchangeably. So, you can just throw out the new ones when they arrive (or throw out the old ones).

If there is a way to tell Disney not to ship you new MBs, it would be more difficult than just throwing them away when they arrive.

I was told by a Disney rep last week, that if I left my magic bands from last year active on my Magic Experience profile and didn't customize additional ones, that they would not ship new ones.

As it turns out, it doesn't cost them anything. Their contract with the supplier is for a fixed price. (Ditto for the shipping contract.) One of the advantages of being a mega-corporation who works in very high volume.

If you wish, you can turn in either set of bands at check-in or at any guest relations desk and ask that they be recycled.

We take old ones as backups, my BIL lost his on his first ride (SpcMtn), first day with us last Oct. Having another would have saved him the time it took for a CM to retrieve it.

Don't customize the new ones and don't confirm your address. Without confirmation, they won't ship them. Without customization they can just reuse the ones they will hand you at checkin.

You can use your Magic Bands from previous trips with no problems as long as you don't deactivate them on your My Disney Experience
