New Land's End amphibious Sport shoes?

Hi,

I've always taken my Teva's to WDW.

Saw the new amphibious sport shoes that Land's End has in June 2004 catalog. They are basically tennis shoes but with mesh uppers and drainage system so that you can walk in water or get rained on and they'll drain out.

They sound great, more structure/protection that Teva's and maybe more warmth if we are going in off season.

Anyone try them yet? Or better yet, try them with alot of walking at WDW?

I ordered them off their website in April and tried them on my May trip. They do keep your feet dry and semi cool but after the second day I developed blisters on my heel. Remember there is not a sock barrier to take away some of the friction. For me I think they are better for lighter journeys. I have never had a problem with my Teva's. Hope this helps.

i saw them in the catalog yesterday and my first reaction was, woah...blister heaven....
you're much better off with sandals than something like that...

we always wear our birkenstock sandals when we're at WDW...
actually, we wear them year round...not just at WDW...
but i wouldn't wear anything else at WDW....when i see people at WDW in jully, in sweltering heat and humidity wearing socks and gym shoes, i get hot just looking at them....

Thanks! I didn't think about blisters. Maybe I'll just stick with the Teva's and take my regular tennies if it gets cold.

wore them this week and loved them for a day and a half. They do cause heel blisters.

What if you put moleskin on the heels? I do that on all my new shoes, because I tend to get heel abrasions (I've got really odd, boney, protruding heels)

I have them and so far they have been very comfortable. I haven't tried getting them wet yet, but i'm only planning to wear them for rides like Kali or Splash mountain and not necessarily using them as my everyday walking around shoe so I don't anticipate a problem.
