New land to be announced at Magic Kingdom (Not a joke)

Very true, but I don't know if you can build two levels of attractions on top of that water table.

they build 50 story buildings on top of it. if it happens, it happens, I'll wait and see.

Well, the orignal plan for MK had a two level attraction where Big Thunder now sits and the water table is not why it wasn't built. Further, Pirates goes down to the first level, so I'd say it would be doable.

The problem I have with this rumor is that some of the rides in TDS are basically the same as rides in Fantasyland already. Does Magic Kingdom really need two teacups rides?

It would be much more effective in AK or MGM to me.

Of course, where TDS really goes out of it's way to make that area impressive, I'm worried that stateside it will become Flik's fun fair with fish.

Personally, I'd rather see another mountain in that location. I've always liked the Villian mountain idea. Oh well, just another on my list of things to do when I'm in charge.

No, but it also doesn't need 3 Dumbo/Astro Orbiter/Magic Carpet rides either

Uhh, what happened to a land of Villians...that would be awesome. *sigh*

Triton's Kingdom at Tokyo DisneySea is an amazingly themed indoor carnival, so to speak. I only spent a day at that park, and I was on my way out when I saw the entrance to this. I wandered inside and it is all above ground. You walk down a winding ramp to the left side and find yourself "underwater." The ceiling is painted blue and green as are the walls to similate the sea. It's like a huge warehouse but tastefully decorated. I remarked at the time that there were only three attractions, and they were all for young children. Adults really couldn't/shouldn't be on them. Do check out this site and you'll see what I mean.

There was another part that had grottos where you could stroll around and see the artifacts of Ariel's journey, or Triton's collection of riches, etc. There was also a counter service food station.

Long story short, I was thoroughly impressed and the kids loved it. But as I said, not much for adults to do. I second the call to bring over Journey to the Center of the Earth. It's Test Track meets Dinosaur. Just the theming of the whole 20,000 Leagues, Mt. Prometheus and Journey at DisneySea is worth the price of admission.

It makes sence to me. Ariel's grotto is huge with the kids. It was the longest line I waited in at WDW the last time I went. Why not add more to it? I know that my DD would love it. Also, it would be nice to watch her ride and get a break for myself and my DH. Fantasy Land can be overwhelming for parents of a child. Would you not agree?

AV's re-education classes will be particularly delightful. And if you fail the class, he straps you to Heimlich's chew chew train and leaves you.

Not just similar rides, mind you. The rumored attraction includes a playground, no? Does Fantasyland really need another playground? For that matter, does the MK really need another playground?

Actually, yes. Maybe I missed something, but I don't recall anything akin to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground from D-MGM at the MK. That would be a nice addition.

Which is why I think it works better buy the new Nemo musical at DAK.

There already is a playground near the Nemo musical at DAK.

Actually it's Epcot that needs a playground. All the other parks have one. At MK there is not only Pooh's Playful Spot but Tom Sawyer's Island (surely the best playground ever!) and the "Donald's Boat and Toon Park" area in Mickey's ToonTown.

MGM has HISTK, and AK has the Boneyard. But while Epcot has a couple interactive areas, the closest thing to an actual playground was the Viking ship at Norway, and now even that is no longer available for play.

bicker was referring to the Boneyard, which IS close to the Nemo Musical. It's even closer to Primeval Whirl and Triceratop Spin.

There is a playground in Fantasyland already. Pooh's Playful Spot, I believe.

Are there any photos of this online? We were just there in January and truthfully neither I nor my DN6 and DN1.5 saw it.

Isn't this in the exact spot where they're talking about putting the new attraction? Replacing this with that? :confused3

(From that link just posted, referring to the current playground: "... on the site of the former 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Lagoon ..." From earlier in the thread, referring to the planned playground: " ... in the area that 1000 leagues under the sea once was.")

So it won't result in "too much playground" at MK -- but just enhancing the option that is already there.

the boneyard I know. thats a little different. But hey, my kids say you can't have too many playgrounds.
