New Kidani Resort & Pool Video! 4/26/2009 updtd 4/30

This might sound weird but can you get some pictures of the underground parking area?

I can do that. I actually find the parking a little confusing - all along I thought that one parking area was going to be for guests, but I am sure now that it's cast parking. I parked near the underground parking area, but couldn't figure it out quickly and just parked outside of it. :) I will get some photos this week.

The "Founding Families" are those that were among the first to purchase Kidani and buy at least some minimum number of points.

Thanks for the clarification on the tapestries. Based on earlier photos, it looked like they had a neck opening and armholes. So are you saying they just appear to have a neck opening but it's just part of the tapestry? In other words, they are tapestries that just look like robes?

Thanks for posting these wonderful videos!!

Lisa -

Thanks, I had NO idea what the names were - I thought the ones buying into the AKL, so I was right about that. I am not DVC, so when I heard "founding", I thought maybe it was the first DVC members.

I have a video with the tapestries - I didn't notice any arm holes or a neck opening, I don't see that when looking at the video now. Unless there are other tapestries that I don't know about, the ones that I saw in the library just look like hanging tapestries. I will be back there this week and can get better footage of them.

I've been taking photos of the Kidani construction for a year and a half or so, but again - I'm not DVC and so I'm not as familiar with details like the tapestries and such. I do my best - but there is only one of me and I try to get pics all over property (including DVC). :)

Awesome videos and I even saw our name on the tapestry....Thank you so much! :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Great videos. We are thinking of beginning our vacation next year with a short stay at AKVs and this just makes me want the time to fly by even more!! Have a great time, looking forward to more videos.:)

Thanks so much.

This was a CM/press open house ? I'm asking because you said people were at the pool ? And on the video I saw people at the check-in desk in the lobby ? Was Kidani open for guests to stay in rooms ? I didn't think it opened to guests until May 1 ? Guess I'm kind of confused :upsidedow

Also wanted to add....thanks for all the photos on top of the video. I can actually see the menu offering at the pool bar ! This is so good to know there is a decent selection of food offerings to take back to the room if needed. THANK YOU ! I feel alot better now. Thought Mara was going to be the only place to get some decent quick service food.

I see on the pool bar menu (and it states "served in a Bento box"). It's hard to make out all the details, but I can see :
Club sandwich on multigrain bread; Tandorri chicken; Tandorri Angus Chuck burger; Tandorri Sustainable fish; Dum Biryani ; Grilled Pork Chop; Slow roasted beef short ribs.

I think I see something about mango pudding too ? Can't be sure as it's kind of blurry when I magnify the size.

Does anyone know what the pool bar hours will be ?

Just an update - I put up 50 pool photos and added nearly 9 minutes of Kidani pool footage. :)

Great job Denise. Thank you very much for heading back to Kidani to get that pool footage!

Wow the pool looks great! Can't wait to get my kids to see that play area, they will love it!

What's with the library? Is it just a sitting area? A place to eat? Whats the purpose there?

I was wondering the same....thinking maybe it is similar to the Iron Spike Room at the VWL.

Thanks so much for the video Denise :thumbsup2

I just got back from a day at Disney and found all of these wonderful posts, thank you! I will have video up of Sanaa soon as well, and a review of the food.

I didn't notice board games in the library, but there may be some. It is mostly a sitting area with tables and chairs, fireplace, etc. It is similar to the room off the lobby in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Also, I was asked about whether the tapestries are like robes - they aren't at all. They are just tapestries - but very nice!

Sanaa was great, we had a WONDERFUL server and even ran into Jack Spence from AllEars and Kevin Yee from Miceage (who I know fairly well). It ended up being a 3 hour lunch!
