New JTA procedure

Forgive me if already posted..they let in a JTA line at 7:50 this morning for 9 AM park opening. We are signed up and have been waiting at internal RD line for TSMM by 8 AM. CM says there is new management and this is the new procedure. Yay for being here early!

Is today an EMH morning?

JTA = Jedi Training Academy

So does this mean you could book an 830am H&V and sign up for JTA before?

It was a regular park day; no EMH.

Interesting procedure. Letting in guests over an hour before the park opens? Due to Kylo being in the show??
Kylo Ren is in the show?
Darth Vader and Seventh Sister are the only ones I know of. Has this changed?

@AngiTN: Kylo has permanently replaced Darth Maul for the fight sequence at the conclusion of the show. This went into effect yesterday! :)
Ah, ok. Thanks. I was thinking of the opponents only. I'll miss Darth Maul's routine. It was always a blast to watch.

That is interesting. Might have to shift things around for April. That's early!

Yes! Check out the Official SW thread. @hiroMYhero posted video and @yulilin3 posted pictures yesterday! It looks fun!

This is a good change, I think. Last month we arrived a little after 8:30 and my husband and son had to stand in line until 9 before they would allow sign-ups. Then there were about 10 people ahead of them so by the time we met up with them it was almost 9:30. We had planned on trying to do TSMM standby but by then the line was up to an hour wait. If they could've signed up for JTA right away, we could've gotten on line much sooner.

Unfortunately, I fear this will go the way of FastPass+ for parades and fireworks. The point is to show up right before the start time and still get a good seat, but people are showing up 1-1.5 hours early with a FastPass+ which defeats the purpose.

If the new plan is that JTA sign-ups start an hour before park opening, people are going to start showing up two hours early to lineup. It was a fun experience for my son and definitely adorable, but I'm not going to line up at 6 AM to do it again.

Our experience was, the gates were open by 8:30 on a 9am open. You could line up at whatever attraction you wanted, but nothing was running until 9. As I understand in the OP, they would allow JTA sign-ups right away so then people could make their way to their next queue of interest.

Will be watching this as we go in March and wondering if its staying the same. Is there a certain gate you have to go to or just say your signing up for JTA?

Same.

KyloRen's toddler-tantrums are far less interesting.

Glad DS has declared himself DONE with JTA (and he's also soon to age out of it).

I don't think it's going to become an issue.
It is not necessary to be there that early to sign up. People are getting to HS early for different reasons and if you are there that early they are letting you sign up. Which is different.
There are not that many people lining up to do JTA. With the changes the slots don't go that fast.
