In my experience it's normal for the hats to be a grand. Fourth of July Mickey Ears, Red Santa Hat, Kings Crown, all four of the Mardi Gras hats, etc.
I agree, look at the ugly diver helmet...it is 2000 credits the other parts are free. 1000 is exactly what I expected.

Even when a hat is part of a costume and the shirt, pants and shoes are only 500 each, the hat is a 1000. The Top Hat, Cowboy Hat, Football Helmets, Headdress, Hero Mask, Tron Helmet, etc - they were all 1k credits each.
So this is business as usual.
I wasn't expecting 4 people to inform me of prices...I was merely expressing an opinion on how I think costume pieces should be the same price. Its not like I'm leading some kind of revolt against the game.
Yes I was shocked at first, then someone else explained, and then I stated my opinion on it. After that, 3 other people commented on the expected price again (well technically 4 people now since Goofy_Bob if you include your post) making that now 5 people saying the same thing to me. Trust me, I get it, one explanation does a good enough job for me.

I thought the helmet would be green tinted, lots of my friends were getting worried that it would be the same as the last helmet, but I stayed resolved.
