New incentives?

Looks like there are incentives on even 100 points, which I don’t think was the case when vgf2 originally went on sale. I was planning on adding 50 points at riv or VGF but now may bump up to 100 (most likely RIV) but definitely won’t be doing that until we hear about the plan for APs going forward. Hopefully that happens before 7/12!

It is very interesting. I toured both resorts last week looking at the various rooms they have (including the new resort studio at VGF) and I must say they are both stunning. So stunning that I put an offer in on VGF contract. But I didn’t think incentives would go this way. I may have been swayed to just add on at Riveria direct as opposed to buying anything resale. I wonder if people are scared of not only the resale restrictions but also the high MFs. VGF MFs are amazing. We never work with full information.
I just bought at VGF in March direct when they had even better direct incentives. Don’t regret the purchase at all. I’ve never visited Riviera but if you’re not scared off by resale restrictions it definitely is competitively priced with resale contracts. I don’t have a history of incentives but it appears better than recent past for sure.

I think you are right and the incentives were 125 and higher in March. It certainly seems like they are discovering the price point in this current climate that is needed to have strong sales.

ETA: The website isn't showing incentives at 100 points...its showing me only starting at 125.

Does anyone think that the AP issues have to do with the park reservation system? I mean, how can you sell a product with "no blackout dates" but then have a reservation system that imposes blackout dates? I know that there were situations where parks would get to capacity before but that's all part of the process to know you need to get there early.

First off, I am surprised the base price is still $207. That is good news.
What I find interesting is the jump the Riviera got, compared to Aulani and Grand Floridian.
Looking at add-on incentives, Aulani increased just 1-2 dollars per point, while Grand Floridian increased 1-5 dollars per point.
But Riviera incentives increased 8-12 dollars per point. That is a huge change. It is now discounted more than Aulani up to 299 points.
I don’t know what that means, but maybe Riviera sales hasn’t met their goals.
Any way you look at it, now might be the right time to look at adding some Riviera points.

What is Riviera's base price before incentives?

It is a surprising move that I didn't expect but it does make you think they are going to be pushing sales in that direction? Instead of offering these kind of incentives on a sold out resort, they simply made RIV less expensive than VGF, giving those new buyers an option if price is a concern?

The April sales data did seem to show that current owners were a larger chunk of VGF buyers. And, if they are trying to find a reason to keep restrictions in place, you have to wonder if they are trying to see if better incentives will spark sales?

now I am thinking the Riviera GV may be within reach after all ... 😄

I know what you mean...those RIV incentives are really good! Can't do it...can't do it...can't do it!!! LOL
